Pokémon Card Game
Last Updated: Tuesday, January 26
The Pokemon TCG (Trading Card Game) can be found at Electronics Boutique and is at an affordable price of $7.99. Here is how the game is played. The starter set,
which includes two 30-card decks, 10 hit point counters, the special Machamp holographic foil card and all the rules. It also comes with one of those mats to play on which makes the game a little easier to understand.
First, both players draw 7 cards, then put one of your basic Pokemon into battle. To attack, you need to attach the required amount of energy cards of the correct type. So if the attack requires 2 fire energies, then that’s
how many must be attached to attack. If it needs a white “colorless” energy, which has a white star, then any kind of energy will do as long as it’s the correct type of the Pokemon. Then, you tell your opponent what attack you’re using and how much HP it takes away. If your opponent’s Pokemon has a weakness to your Pokemon’s type, which says on the card, then the attack damage is doubled. If the opponent’s
Pokemon has a resistance to your Pokemon’s type (the card will say how resistant), then the attacks you use won’t hurt it nearly as much. Once you figure out the attack damage, you put one hit point counter on your Pokemon for every 10 HP points it loses. If the damage taken is greater or equal to your Pokemon’s total HP, then it will faint, and be discarded.
You also put out six prize cards, which you take into your hand after each of your opponent’s Pokemon is defeated. If you collect all of your prize cards,
or all of your Pokemon have fainted, then you lose. The booster packs will soon be released, along with the special theme decks, which include Blackout, Brushfire, Zap!, and Overgrowth. From my experience with this game has been great. Do your self a favor and get it. Stay tuned to our site for future updates.
