Chapter 1:
|
| The story started in Rivendell, when Master Elrond called a meeting to decide what to do with the One Ring that Frodo has in possession. It has been decided that the Fellowship of the Ring is to be made. This group's mission is to help get Frodo the Ringbearer to Mount Doom. They consist of Frodo Baggins, Samwise Gamgee, Gandalf the Grey, Aragorn, Boromir, Legolas, Gimli, Meriadoc Brandybuck, Peregrin Took and some other people, including Enuvian and Carisan. As the Fellowship is now complete and ready, they started their new adventure. |

Most of this is now known, how the group went to fight their way across the mountain passages and failed and that they have no choice but to enter the dark caves of Moria. Yet not everybody agreed with this decision, as Enuvien and Carisan wanted to go down to the end of the Misty Mountains and try to go to their destination by the Gap of Rohan. So the group split up, agreeing to meet in Minas Tirith. As the Fellowship split up and the nine went inside the caves of Moria, and Carisan and Enuvien hurrying to the Gap, the two heard faint rumor of hooves behind them.
And so we follow Enuvien and Carisan, going their separate way, towards the Gap of Rohan. As the two eventually reached the Gap, they are waylaid by the dark elf, Dark Blade, the one that was following them. Since Carisan was ahead, he did not notice immediately that his friend stopped to confront this evil elf. And so the two elves met, one on the side of the Dark and one on the side of the Light, eyeing each other warily.
Yet before anybody started to move, they all heard the sounds of hooves approaching them. The man, a Rider of Rohan named Theomer, drew his sword, declared that they are trespassing and then asked who they all are. Dark Blade used this distraction to make his first move and summoned a dark cloud that sapped the life force out of his enemy, and it surround them all. It seems that Enuvien would be defeated, since Dark Blade clearly has powers beyond that of an ordinary elf. Carisan tried to help his friend but because of the dark cloud brought about by the dark elf, he lost consciousness. Although Enuvien was now badly hurt and desperate, he eventually managed to mortally wound Dark Blade and so defeat him. Dark Blade, knowing that he had lost, galloped away, promising revenge.
Theomer after watching the battle, realized that the winner, although now badly wounded, is on the side of the Good. So he went to Enuvien, healing the elf's wounds as best as he can, and then helped Carisan get up and move him closer. As they talked, the two learned that Theomer is sent by Eomer to seek Gandalf in Rivendell and convince the wizard to help Rohan. But since Gandalf is now with the rest of the Fellowship in Moria, it seems that Theomer has failed in his mission. And because he didn't want to return to Dunharrow with a failed mission in his hands, he joined the two adventurers on their quest.
And so they continued to travel, but they soon became aware that there are a group of people that are watching their every move. Indeed, there is a group of elves watching the travelers, wary if these three are friends or foes. And they all do not realize that another figure is watching them all, a stranger named Convocare. Before the group of elves present themselves to the travelers, Convocare stepped in to introduce himself to the three. The leader of the elves, Gildor, realizing that this stranger is dangerous, shown himself to the now surprised travelers and warned them not to trust Convocare. Enuvien, Carisan and Theomer is now fully aware that they are surrounded by a group of armed elves, eying them warily. They do not know which of the two strangers they would believe. Gildor demanded that they introduced themselves to him and tell which side are they aligned to. As he learned that the three are on their side, he and the elves disappeared, leaving the three with the stranger Convocare.
Convocare told them that all he wants to do was to accompany the three in their quest of the Ring. Enuvien was angry that this stranger knew about the Ring (which is supposed to be a secret), Carisan saying that they better get moving, and Theomer skeptical that this Convocare is indeed a Councilor of some Council. Convocare, though irritated, showed his power to the three and they reluctantly agreed that he may join them on their travel, especially now that he told them that Mordor is now prepared to attack Minas Tirith. Convocare then advised that they go to the Gap of Rohan, saying that his fellow Councilors are there to help. With no choice but to follow his advice, the group traveled for the Gap of Rohan.

Later one night, the group is resting, preparing themselves for the travel the next day. Theomer and Enuvien are sleeping soundly, Carisan was relieving himself and Convocare was on guard duty. Carisan heard a harsh scream from their camp. Rushing back, he saw Convocare with his sword drawn, and Theomer and Enuvien missing! Convocare said that Orcs are nearby and that they must go quickly to the Gap or else everything will be lost. Carisan reluctantly followed, convinced that his two friends are lost to the Orcs. |
Indeed, Enuvien regained consciousness to the sound of harsh Orc voices, gagged and tied. He saw Theomer struggling, with the Orcs beating him up. When the Orcs left, Enuvien labored to cut the rope binding his hands. He succeed freeing his hands, then turned to Theomer checking if he's okay. Unfortunately, an Orc saw they are escaping and tried to stop them. The two managed to knock the him down and with the Orc's sword cut off the rest of their bindings. Knowing that they couldn't possibly escape without the whole Orc troops knowing, they pretended to that they are still tied down, hoping that they would have an opportunity to escape.
