TENSIONS ARISE AS BETHANY SAYS HER GOODBYES
It was a tense week in the apartment as Yoanna , the 23-year-old babysitter from Jacksonville, Florida, and Camille , the 25-year-old student from Mamaroneck, New York, clashed again and again over each other's personalities. After a do-it-yourself photo shoot, the judges felt that Bethany , the 22-year-old waitress from Houston, Texas, did not adjust her pose and positioning enough after numerous critiques, and decided to send her home.

HONEYMOON IS OVER
It appears the honeymoon period is over and the competition to become AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL has truly begun. As the girls start to get to know each other, their personalities are starting to become more apparent and the friction more evident. During the car ride home from the first round in which Jenascia , the 21-year-old waitress from Burien, Washington, was almost eliminated, Camille is chatting up a storm to a quiet Bethany and Yoanna. She offers advice about the modeling industry, points out her degree in advertising and lets everyone know that she worked on a billboard ad in Times Square. "Camille is probably the most exhausting experience I have ever encountered," says Yoanna, adding, "I don't know where Camille comes from and I really don't like Camille." Yoanna tries to quiet Camille in the car by asking her to be quiet so she can mediate, but much to Yoanna's chagrin, Camille keeps on talking.

HITTING THE GYM
"We are finally hitting the gym. We are going to a place of physical worship," says April , the 23-year-old corporate business account manager from Miami Beach, Florida, as the girls are taken to the Waterfront Boxing Club. They meet their new trainer, Martin Snow, who is going to get the girls into shape by teaching them to be fighters. "Every day you wake up out of bed, you are fighting something right?" he asks them. Camille tells us that in this competition, "You can't let the weakness get to you." She proceeds to pound on the punching bag.

After the workout, the scale is brought out to weigh the girls. Camille weighs in at 124 pounds, but questions the scale, exclaiming, "That does not say 124!" The trainer isn't buying it and writes her in at 124 pounds. Yoanna tells us she has always wanted to be a model, but she used to be 45 pounds heavier. As Yoanna weighs in at 138, Camille mentions, "Yoanna is very conscience of her, like, image… she wasn't secure within her own skin." Bethany thinks "there [are] going to be some issues with my boobs" as she gets her chest measured. She measures 34 inches around her chest, much to the disbelief of the other girls who assumed she was much bigger. "I'm blonde and I have bigger boobs, I guess, than the rest of them. What people don't understand is that I am ok with it and they are not," states Bethany.

LEARNING TO WALK ALL OVER AGAIN
The girls are taken to a place called "The Show," where they meet J. Alexander, the world-famous runway trainer. He greets them in a "really strange woman's body t-shirt," as Xiomara , the 25-year-old bartender from Morganville, New Jersey, describes it. He lets them know that he is going to be training them, but, before he can do this, he wants them to meet a real supermodel. Through the curtains walks Maggie Rizer, a famous supermodel. Yoanna is impressed with Maggie because "she looked like she had healthy physique and that she wasn't real thin, and it just shows you that you don't have to be a size negative zero to make it in this industry."

J. Alexander asks all of the girls to now walk the runway. Shandi , the 21-year-old Walgreen's clerk from Kansas City, Missouri, is up first and she confesses, "I am completely different than everyone else. I don't even, like, own a pair of high heels." J. Alexander pleads for help and states that Shandi is always looking at her feet as if they would to guide her, but in reality they will just trip her up. Bethany walks, and Xiomara points out that "Bethany's body is more…voluptuous." Bethany knows she doesn't have a stick thin figure, but she isn't worried about it in her walk. She knows that half of America isn't stick thin either.

J. Alexander thinks that Catie , the 18-year-old wire stripper from Willmar, Minnesota, "could be a model. I see something natural in her and that kinda works for her." Sara , the 22-year-old hostess from Seattle, Washington, walks with her mouth open like a fish. At the end of the runway, Camille unzips her jacket and gives a little something extra at the end of the runway. "Camille puts on a show, and thinks everyone recognizes that," Yoanna says with distaste.

Yoanna's walk is about as "useless as a flashlight with no batteries in the dark," J. Alexander tells her. He gets up on the stage and mimics a horse scraping its foot on the ground to illustrate to Yoanna that she must not do any of that. The other girls laugh at J. Alexander's representation of Yoanna's walk, but Yoanna doesn't even crack a smile.

SHE SAID, SHE SAID
"I'm one of those people if someone has an issue or might be saying something about me, come to me and say it," Yoanna says. This is the issue that causes the first big fight in the house. Yoanna confronts Camille in the doorway to the bedroom, asserting, "The last couple times you've had things to say about me, you've never said it to my face." Camille defends herself, saying, "Trust me, if I have something to say you, I'll say it to your face." Sara calls the whole situation very "high school."

Camille thinks that all of this tension comes from the fact that "Yoanna looks at me and she sees that I am very comfortable in my skin and maybe that is something she wished that she possessed or she's trying to get there." On the other hand, Yoanna feels it's tough to know where Camille is coming from.

TIME TO WALK THE WALK
The girls receive Tyra Mail and are told they are going to go walk in front of a top New York designer. The models are taken to the showroom where they prepare to walk for Carmen Marc Valvo. The girl who walks to best in Carmen's eyes will get to go to a cocktail party at his house, with some influential people in the fashion industry attending. Yoanna really wants to win because who knows, "Someone there might be able to discover me at his house."

The girls take to the runway one by one. After seeing Shandi walk, Carmen says, "She's not comfortable in her own shoes, she is still very timid and her body language is very, very introverted and she needs to overcome that." According to Carmen, Yoanna needs to build up her confidence and learn to walk straighter. He is very impressed with Catie's walk and arm movement.

After everyone has done their walk, he pulls them all in to talk to them about their performance. When addressing Camille, he tells her that she just milked it over and over at the end of the runway and did not want to leave. She fires back, "The last runway show I did, they told me I didn't spend enough time at the end of the runway." Carmen rebuts by advising Camille to take what everyone is teaching her and find what she is comfortable with. In private, Carmen tells us that he was a little off put by Camille's aggressiveness. Yoanna is embarrassed by Camille's behavior because Yoanna felt that they were guests in Carmen's showroom.

Carmen says it wasn't an easy job to pick the girl who did the best on the runway, but in the end he picked Catie, saying, "She walked with such composure and grace that she had me convinced she belonged on a runway." Catie must quickly pick two girls to come with her to the party. She chooses Camille and Mercedes, the 22-year-old waitress from Valencia, California, because she enjoys their company and they are her roommates.

THE TRUTH BE TOLD…
Camille "is sucking all our energy out so we can be so weak and confused and not know what is going on," divulges Yoanna to Catie on the car ride home. Catie says she has just been oblivious to the fact that no one likes Camille. Yoanna tells her to be careful around "Mrs. Cruella Deville" because she will steal Catie's thunder at the party that night. After hearing how everyone feels, Catie says she wishes she could take her pick back.

Camille starts to hear things around the house and decides there needs to be a house meeting to get it all out in the open. Yoanna starts calling people to the living room to have a house meeting. In the meeting, Camille says, "Everyone has an issue with my character," and it is time to talk about Camille. Bethany informs Camille that she always has an excuse for everything, and that if eight people are telling her that then maybe she might want to accept the fact that it is her personality and it isn't eight people perceiving her the wrong way. Yoanna feels that it has gotten to the point where it is so negative in the house that everyone is clashing. Camille wonders where all this anger comes from because she doesn't have anger for anyone. The girls let Camille know that they are worried that she might steal Catie's night at Carmen's. The hot-tempered meeting comes to an end when Camille gets up and says, "I'm going to the party because somebody chose me because they actually like me."

The three girls get all dressed up in Carmen Marc Valvo dresses and go to the party. They get to meet other people in the industry and Carmen lets Catie wear a 10-carat diamond ring the whole night. Her smile beams from ear to ear.

DO-IT-YOURSELF PHOTO SHOOT
The girls are told that they must bring their own clothes and makeup for a photo shoot for Steve Madden shoes . Tyra greets them and introduces them to Jay Manuel . He tells the girls he will be their art director for all of their shoots. However, on today's shoot, he doesn't have a hair designer, makeup artist or stylist for them. They are going to do it all themselves to connect with their own personal sense of style. After they do the shoot, they will get to look at their photos and pick their best one.

The girls are positioned in front of a white background and told to pose how they feel they should. Some of the shoes they have to choose from are the sport inspired "57 boot," the "strikin"--a clear pump with patent sides, as well as an array of stilleto boots. Camille, dressed in a black dress with long white boots, tries to do movement shots by jumping and attempting to do splits. Jay and the photographer, Ché Graham, say that Yoanna knows how to move and her bone structure is beyond beautiful. Shandi puts on long black boots and confesses that she has never worn boots like that before, but they made her want to "work it and like get all funky and crazy." Jay tells us that Shandi could definitely learn from a makeup lesson. Bethany chose a white pair of shoes with a black top. When Bethany looks at her pictures, she says, "Tyra said be careful about poking my chest out, and it's about the shoes and it's not really about me." Taking into account those words, she picks what she feels is her best photo.

STEPPING BEFORE THE JUDGES
The judges this week are Tyra Banks, Janice Dickinson , Eric Nicholson , Nigel Barker and guest judge, J. Alexander. Tyra tells them they will each be brought up for a critique, but first, J. Alexander suggests that they go into the back and put on a slip dress and high heels and walk for him, or in his words, "Come back for slaughter."

Bethany walks first and Janice points out that it appears she hasn't practiced at all. Tyra thought her walk was too fast and this is her "time to really show us what she's got and she needs to milk it." After seeing Shandi walk, J. Alexander says, "What happened Shandi?" Janice says that she needs to "eat, sleep, and (expletive) in your heels if you have to." The judges are impressed with Mercedes' walk. After Janice complains, "Are you kidding me with that walk?" about Jenacia, she brings up Jenacia's height once again and tells her to think tall. The judges think that Xiomara looks possessed, noting, "You walked like you were on crack." Catie is seen as having one of the strongest walks of all the girls; she just needs to put Catie into it. Yoanna, who had been practicing back at the apartment on her walk, gets an A+ from Tyra.

The picture Bethany chose was in fact her best picture, says Tyra. Janice calls Bethany's pose "Janice Dickinson circa 1978." Tyra says that she needs to push her booty out more. Eric says he knows that Heather, the 18-year-old customer service representative from Moreno Valley, California, was going for sexy and sultry in her picture, but it comes off a little like she is sitting on the toilet. The judges say that April's pose looks like "Brooke Shields' Calvin Klein ad 1980." After seeing Camille, Eric tells her that the girls should watch out for her because she knows what she is doing.

DELIBERATIONS
The girls leave and the judges start to talk over who should be eliminated. Regarding Yoanna, Eric thinks she's a clumper but has a great attitude. "Shandi is in shambles," states Nigel about her walk. Eric is more optimistic, saying that he hopes Shandi is the little seed that they are going to fertilize. Jenascia doesn't have what it takes, according to Nigel. Janice still thinks she is too short, but Eric is quick to point out that Kate Moss changed all of that regarding height. Sara needs to relax, according to the judges. Janice thinks that Bethany needs to hack her hair and lose a little more weight. Tyra is worried that Bethany doesn't have the fashion girl inside of her. Xiomara is out according to Eric, but Janice wants to keep her. J. Alexander notes that she needs to work on her "possessed 'Children of the Damned' look."

TIME TO CUT SOMEONE LOOSE
The girls are brought back in, and Tyra tells them that she only has 10 pictures for the 11 girls. The girl who does not receive her picture is eliminated from the competition. Catie, who looks shocked, is called first. Yoanna is called next, and Tyra tells her that the girl she sees in front of her is "edgy, she's powerful, she seems confident." Camille is given her picture and is still in the running. April, Mercedes, Sara, Xiomara, Heather and Jenascia are all called forward.

Shandi and Bethany are left. Tyra asks them to step forward. Tyra tells Bethany that she "has talked…about posing differently," and in her picture she looked kind of pinup-ish, but no doubt her face is still gorgeous. Tyra tells Shandi that her picture was gorgeous, but adds, "I have never seen a runway walk that bad in my life and we're not sure you are going to be able to walk like a Top Model."

With that, Tyra gives Shandi her picture and tells her she is still in the running to become AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL. She is relieved and excited. Bethany hugs the other girls, says goodbye and tells us, "I didn't think I would go this soon if at all." She knows she has a lot more talent than half the girls still in the competition. This was something she really wanted. She packs her bags and heads out of the apartment.
