ID: 1 - Ooohh...sweet, sweet nectar.
There's been a shitload of stuff going on here at the site lately - sorry I haven't been updating regularly! ^^; In any case, I joined a ton of listings so I created a page with links to all of them. See it here. I finally got around to changing the link of the week - so it's all ready for next week. It's this cool art site I found a long time ago called Epilogue. Stuck up an old link of the week page here. I've also done a lot at the anime site - started work on the Ayashi no Ceres and Fruits Basket sections. I'm really excited about getting more done over that way. I've got two new ideas lined up (yes, yes - I know!): I want to add a small Aqua Teen Hunger Force site and I also want to put up some tablature in the music section. I think the tabs will help draw a few people and add some diversity to the site. Right now, it looks like only people who know me visit the site anyway but the others who find are drawn by the very incomplete anime section. I hate to think the anime site is disappointing (and losing potential frequenters) because it's not developed. So my focus is more on it for the moment.
Now for the main problem: I thought I might have found a really great host, but...I'm not real sure how that's going. I'm rapidly running out of space on this Geocities account and I don't want to have to split my content up over several different accounts. So that leaves me to a.) find a host (which is preferable, because I want to experiment with PHP and all those benefits before I invest) or b.) buy my own bit of webspace (by the by, I just discovered that the domain name I wanted, saturnine, is taken on .com, .net, and .org. -_-). I'm afraid to buy a domain because as is, I don't have as much time as I'd like to devote to the site and also, I'm not very advanced in the different script languages. *sigh* Anyway. There's the dilemma. This is a lot longer than it needs to be, so I'm gonna go now. Toodles!

I finally put up the affiliation page. I also added a new layout to the graphics section, so go check that out. I had quite a few plans for today, but things kept coming up so I didn't get around to doing much more than this. Leaving now - not feeling well.

Looked into getting a script that would allow people to leave comments here. Couldn't work out anything. If you know where or how I can do this, please let me know. I redid the colors for all the lyrics and reconfigured the tagboard. Also fixed the links to the anime section. I think that's about all for today. I'm not feeling so hot - think I'll have a nap.

ID: 1 - Boy...oh boy...*falls over*
New layout up. Pages converted. Deleted the image art section - threw poetry in with extras. Added affiliation and previous layout pages. Next goal: converting lyrics to new color scheme. Wow...I'd forgotten just how tiring this stuff is. I deleted a lot of stuff that was floating around the domain. *wince* Kinda anxious about that. Hope I won't ever need any of it again. I think I'll go have a nap now...*faints*

Oh my God, yes. Another layout. This time, created by me instead of premade. Do you like? The colors were most certainly inspired by Nick. In fact, the entire thing was quite inspired by him. Here's to you, boyo. In any case, I've just created the thing and now it's (way past) time for me to go to bed. Work tomorrow. So I'll see what I can do about converting pages then. Rock on. Rock hard.

Well, I put the site on a sort of hiatus today. I'm going to take some time to rethink my course of action. It's gotten to the point where I'm not sure of what I want to do or how to do it or why I should do it - since I don't have that many visitors. I've been reviewing page statistics all morning and I'm entertaining the idea of handing over my url to some search engines. That's one thing I've always been skeptical about, but.........*shrugs* I'm just not really sure about anything right now. Whether I want to risk a lot of headaches in exchange for more visitors, whether I want to look for a new host so that I can better develop the site, whether I want to keep working on the site at all. Just the other day, I'd decided that I was going to let it all go - not do another thing with it. Maybe even delete it. But I ended up making a layout for the anime section and getting more done in two days that I had in six months. I guess it just sucks that my enthusiasm for the site comes in spurts. If I had a steady well to draw on, the site would probably be much farther along than it is. Agh, I don't know. >.< This whole thing is making me discouraged and irritable. I'd better go take a break before I try to analyze anything else.

Yes, that's right. I've decided to put up a new layout. I haven't finished switching all the pages over, so things will be rather weird for a few days. I thought maybe I could finish everything (or mostly everything) today, but I'd forgotten that it takes forever to do nothing with this site. I wish I had server side includes. But oh well. I'm finished tweaking the style sheet and making icons, so now I can get on with converting pages. Oh yeah, I also archived most of the updates. I had to go ahead and update because I have to leave for work in about an hour. Check back soon for more progress.

Let's see...the Lacuna Coil site is pretty much back to normal. And I put up dead end pages for the Nirvana site too (to avoid running into those annoying "this page does not exist" things Yahoo puts up). I did some research and found that the error on this page is caused by the tagboard - and there's nothing I can do about it. Hmm...I thought I'd done a lot more, but I guess not. Lately, working on the site seems to take a lot out of me. Summer approaches, however. Maybe then I'll get more accomplished.

- Ahh, crap.
Well, new layout is up. However, all the files for the old layout have been lost. So there will be no skin-changing until I decide to recode all of those pages. Sorry! I thought I'd copied them, but damn Geocities must have been faulty! There's still some color changes and coding I have to do - links may not work and things may look weird. Bear with me. Gotta run for now - more updates later!

I just put up the new Nirvana layout! Go see it! There's still a bit of tweaking I have to do but damn, I'm excited! I made it myself! It's so pretty...hah. I hope no one thinks I'm getting stuck on myself - coz I'm not. I'm just excited that something I made came out so well. Hehehehe! Anyway, I gotta run - look for more updates soon!

- Focus on...
Just thought I'd mention that right now I'm focusing on my mini-sites instead of the main. The Nine Inch Nails site is perfect - I just need to add all the content. I used to be pretty happy with the Lacuna Coil site - and still am - but I've pretty much decided to revamp the layout. And the newest site, Nirvana, is under heavy construction right now. I'm just about finished with *my own* layout for it and then I'll start adding content to it. So those three will keep me busy for a very long while. After the mini-sites, I plan to work on the anime section and maybe do something about the ImageArt section (it may be deleted). In fact, I may delete a lot of things from the site - to narrow my focus and to free up some space. But we'll see how that goes. Back to the mini-sites - after starting the Nirvana site and immediately giving it a domain, I decided to do the same for the others. They can be accessed as follows:

Wasn't very long, was it? I don't think it can technically be considered a real hiatus. But whatever! ^^ New layout is up, all pages accessible, and I even changed the color coding for the lyrics. Guestbook, tagboard, and counter updated and things are back to normal (for the most part). Ok, now's when I gripe about how I'm not satisfied with the layout. I love the colors - despite the fact that there were only two (I added the white myself). And I like the concept behind it. But to be honest, this one isn't as well-made as Sanne's was. *wince* The pictures for the header don't load as fast or as smoothly (and that's with cable - I can only imagine what goes on with dial up) and the color of the layout doesn't exactly match the background. I can only tweak the style sheet so much because the layout was created around it instead of the other way around. Which means that there are several little things, mostly concerning the font, that don't sit well with me. The way italicized words run into the words behind them, for example. But ok, I'm done. Enjoy the new layout, participate in the poll, join the forum, sign the guestbook, and tag the board! wOOt!

Yeah, the site is on hiatus right now, but I'm still updating. For those who'll want to know what was going on. I converted all the pages to the new layout and things are pretty much ready to go. But I'm realizing that this layout involves a lot of tweaking that really isn't worth the effort. It's a decent layout, but not as good as the brown one. I'm going to leave the lyrics in the old colors for now - because I just may be switching back to the previous layout. I think I'll put up a poll and see what everyone else thinks. (Everyone else = the three people who actually visit the site. o.O) You know, it sucks because I had such high hopes for this new layout, but it's not as fitting as I thought it would be. And the really cool pixel effect Serenity had in place for the links doesn't work because Geocities won't upload the url and Boompseed won't let Geocities access it. AGH! Things just aren't looking too bright right now. I guess I'll do a bit more tweaking and then put it up for public opinion. In the meantime, I'll be looking for another layout. I've got one or two in mind, but I dunno. It's so hard to find a Lain layout - much moreso to find a good one. Anyway, this crap has pissed me off and it's time for work, so I'm out.

I've totally redone the Nine Inch Nails minisite (created the layout myself!) and I'm working on some more projects for it including coding Halo lyrics and getting together a biography. I also updated the anime section (just a tiny something) and archived some updates. I'd really planned to have a lot more done by the time my Spring Break was up, but...*shrugs* Even with being off from work and skool, I couldn't seem to find the time to work here. (I was in Texas for the better part of the week...) In any case, c'est la vie. Check back soon!

There aren't any visible updates to the site, but I just wanted to let anyone who actually comes here know that I've been working (for the past three days) on some lyrics for the lyrics section. Wow, it's been over a month since I've done anything with this site (besides leave comments on the tag board - which is there for *your* use, by the by...o.O). Today is (it's so late now, it's almost was) Kurt Donald Cobain's birthday - R.I.P. I think that deserves a bit of celebration, and then I'll get on with the update. *does Hapee Birfday, Kurt! dance*
Ok, so anyway. I've published my first graphic. It's a layout that I've been working on for the past two weeks (at least). You can find it in the graphics section, or just click here for a shortcut. Comments are welcome (for the moment) so send 'em my way! For the first time in all my years of web design, I had to stop and worry about my alloted disk space - I've got a lot of stuff on this site and I still haven't done all I want/plan to! I'm happy to announce that my first tutorial is available in the tutorial section. There are banners and buttons to choose from in the link LD section. And there are *finally* links to my resources on the credits page. There's also a new and *operable* tagboard and two new entries in the guestbook. In other news, I added a counter to the anime index page. And now, I'm going to bed. I've been in front of this screen far too long...*falls over*

I finally found a layout for the Art:Images section, so go check that out - it's pretty nifty! Fixing links and uploading everything for that layout is all I've had time for today. Well, let's see. I've updated lots of little things, but I guess there's really nothing major going on right now. I found a new layout for the anime domain but I *still* haven't been able to code any of the pages for it. (It is pretty, though! Go look!) I've spent the past hour or so looking for a layout that would be suitable to use for the images domain, but so far I've had no luck. I've recently realized how hard it is to find layouts that aren't blog-styled. Even this layout is rather bloglooking - what with all the content to one side of the screen. >.< Anyway, I'll keep looking and hopefully something will turn up soon.
But speaking of layouts, I've decided I'm not quite ready to give up on making them myself. The last one I made (Gravity...Kills) wasn't that bad - just needs a bit of tweaking I think. I've invested in Paint Shop Pro 8 since it seems to be what all the *real* designers use. If they can do it, so can I! From what I can tell, PSP kicks Photoshop's ass! So we'll see how that goes - if I ever find the time to do anything with it...^_^; It's almost time for work and I still want to update my blog, so I'm out! :)
