During the game, our Traitor, Dan created a sabotage journal.
Here's what was going on in the Traitor's mind as he was messing with the
players':

This team is quite a piece of work. They have managed
to make my job easy over and over again. What kind of
Traitor-hunters can put together a puzzle and find a
secret web site within 12 hours, yet can't get
everyone to post a simple picture or a database
record? What kind of team can't communicate well
enough to keep an E-chicken alive for a mere two
hours, yet has the will and persistence to search out
dozens of reality show contestant names? A team
riddled with dissent, confusion, and chaos, that's
what. A team with a few major players hauling the
weight of all the other deadbeats around with them.
It all surpasses my wildest dreams. And as I search
out more opportunities to strike, it dawns on me that
this is only the beginning. The real test will come
when the finger pointing, the lies, the manipulation,
all become just a bit too much. I will issue this one
guarantee to these cretins. They will go down, they
will go down hard, and they will not know what hit
them. |

I've decided to begin keeping a sabotage journal, so
that it can be easier to recap later should either of
us want to post a summary of the Traitor's work at the
end of the game. Also we can both use it to judge the
quality of my work as we go and decide when the best
times are to sabotage, as opposed to just holding back
(e.g. when the team was in the hole after segment 1,
it just would have been too painful to keep screwing
them over...)
Sabotages so far:
One Does Not Belong - Voted for Lloyd in both original
Fake Player poll and Tiebreaker. In both cases
without that vote the team would have succeeded. Also
pushed evidence to other players via chat that
supported the choice of Lloyd as the fake, possibly
influencing Dottie in particular.
Apple Of My Application - Offered to exchange quotes
with several players; Lloyd cooperated but was
suspicious. Lied to Lloyd about which quote was said
in attempt to raise own chances of taking the reward
away from the team.
Puzzling for Profiles - Locked own profile and
attempted to unlock profile of one of the most active
and intriguing players, Lloyd.
E-Chicken - Had suspicions that maybe we hadn't killed
the chicken (as Kristina touched on in a few posts,
waiting for a ruling) because of time differences, but
posted several times conceding that the chicken had
exploded anyway, thus helping to make sure that it
"stayed dead."
The Demon - In exchange for the paltry dollar gained,
eliminated an entire segment's worth of tasks, and
thus the money earnable during that segment, by
ensuring a Double Execution.
The Hackers - Established a coalition with Adam, on
his initiative, and have been sharing information,
including faked quizzes and suspicions, with him ever
since. From the start of the game he had immediately
assumed that I could never be the Traitor. He is a
smart kid and takes each task seriously; the plan is
to eliminate that threat within the next few segments.
So, after thinking about this a while, I have done
more sabotage than I first realized. :-)
MUAHAHAHAHAHA.

It appears that Joey may be on to me, or at least I'm
high on his list. Not that we can do much about it,
but I noticed how he answered several questions:
3) The letters on the Traitor's puzzle piece were:
ZZL
4) How many marks has the Traitor allocated?
30-40
5) For the Trout Slapping Task the Traitor was:
Online but did not play.
9) Did the Traitor post within messages 340-350?
Yes
In all of these I am in the distinct minority. Just
an observation. *shifts the sights on his
Traitor-brand sniper rifle to the new execution
target*

You mailed me the letter 'M.' I will be telling the
players I was mailed the letter 'N.' and if somehow
they can prove otherwise my excuse is that I looked at
the letter too quickly and then just deleted the
e-mail, since I clean up my inbox regularly (which I
don't, really...) I know you already know this, but
don't be telling the players what you mailed other
players even if they bribe you and beg for it 'cause
right now that's my cover! Duh duh duh I know I
should just shut up but I'm getting more and more
paranoid about letting something small slip. And yes
I recognized task #13 as the Hunting thing and I'm
going to go chat with Tara right now and see how fast
I go down. :-P

On a couple of occasions, luck has simply not been on
the side of the Traitor.
Apple of my Application - Lied to Lloyd about which
quote I said, and then found out that the one I told
him I said was actually the exact one he said; a
15-to-1 coincidence. Therefore he automatically knew
I was lying (Or at least his accidentally posted
confessional indicates so...)
Scramble - Lied to the group about which letter was
mailed to me. The replacement letter, N, happened to
be the exact same letter that Kristina received and
later posted. Why is this bad? My "coalition"
partner is convinced that the Traitor is Kristina, and
on quiz #5 confessed to me that he had devoted all 10
quiz questions to Kristina. By a 25-to-1 coincidence
he gained an additional correct answer, which may be
enough to carry him into yet another round of play
despite his incredible short-sightedness.

Task 14 - Spent much time trying to figure out paths
that don't make me look like an idiot, yet do count as
"sabotage" in some form. Outright trying to prevent
the team from reaching Lloyd was not necessarily the
goal; making sure as many infiltrators go down as
possible is another, much better one. Furthermore,
the power to choose the order in which they infiltrate
allowed me to generally give the power to choose the
exemption to whoever I wanted to. Adam pointed out
early that the blue button most likely indicates an
exemption, since that is the color of the exemption
fingerprint on the execution webpage. As it turns
out, none of these ideas can be guaranteed, and so
much depends on whether Mike keeps the clues to
himself (or whether he's being fully forthcoming about
what he has deduced using them) that I had no choice
but to essentially help the team this time around.
This Traitor has lost one battle, but he will be back,
and at full power, and they shall feel his wrath.

These entries have been removed. I am extending an official public
apology to Dan, my Traitor, for inadvertently breaking his trust in
the matter of this journal. Thank-you.

In-Character Confessional:
This game is getting crazy, and people are dropping
all around like flies; I keep wondering just how the
hell I'm still here. What a horrible way to go on
Tara's part; two dollars for the risk of two demerit
points? She practically guaranteed herself execution.
When Tara left, I felt like the group on Mole 2 after
Elavia took the money and everyone had to think up a
new game plan. It's getting almost to the point where
it's everyone for themselves, and although this
coalition has obviously been helpful, it could also
have spelled my doom had I decided to take the quizzes
in a similar fashion. It's crunch time, and some very
important decisions have to be made. For now I'm
refocusing on Mike and Joey, although I just can't
find enough evidence to be really convinced about
either possibility.
Dan
P.S.
I
love being Dan and The Traitor at the same time.
Gee, it's almost like I'm...two-faced! Imagine that!

I
hope this doesn't upset you too much, but I've
decided to give them the farm animal web-page thing; I
still think it is a good idea not to attract too much
attention, and I have cost the group $2 already from
the Russian Roulette thing. Even Bill from Mole 2
sabotaged the small tasks while giving the group the
big money in the later rounds; I'm thinking at this
point that I also want to only do maybe one sabotage
per segment. Of course, this means that I will
continue to do at least one per segment if it's at all
within my power. I considered doing both this time
and then giving them something on purpose to throw
them off my trail later, but I like doing it this way
better. It's sneakier, and there's no guarantee I'll
have as much direct power over the tasks later as I
did in this segment. If you have any suggestions or
advice (or orders, for that matter) about all this,
don't hesitate to get in my face with them.

Figuring out how to best sabotage tasks is a wonderful
challenge. This segment my plans changed a multitude
of times but I think it will really work out
fantastic. Here's the scoop:
Russian Roulette - Refused to pull the trigger, giving
player-like reasons to do so. Loss: $2
Farm Animals - Created webpage with all required
elements to throw others off path. By the way I hope
you're on Windows 'cause on Mac after the cookie loads
once the counter screws up. But it's still there, as
is a guestbook, info, pictures, and links.
Domesticated Animals - Went on neopets.com in the last
few hours before the deadline and removed a trade to
be made by Adam as well as a few valuable items from
the account inventory. Potential Loss: $3
IF THESE CHANGES MADE TO THE ACCOUNT ARE IN ANY WAY
TRACEABLE, THEN I AM DEAD IN THE WATER. You need to
let me know if this is the case IMMEDIATELY. I looked
everywhere and my general impression is that since it
is under one user-name and password that there is no
way to tell which player did which actions, although
the item to traded was listed as being put up by
SmartGamer (Adam.), so I can't be too careful.

Adam put 50,000 NP into the Neopets account at
approximately 6:11 CST, according to this clock. This
Traitor promptly decided that his circumventing any
real work warranted that I go beyond simply
eliminating items and get rid of his NP altogether.
Our wonderful Grarrg, or whatever its name is, then
received a pet of his own that knocked out more than
half the 50K by itself, a four-week vacation at a
five-star hotel, two powerful weapons it couldn't use,
several valuable medicinal items, and finally, a
couple of tasty Kyrii snacks to finish the last bit
off. Of course, being the evil Traitor I am, I then
snatched everything out of the hands of our beloved
pet and threw it away so it couldn't be resold. I
enjoyed watching it crawl into a corner and bawl its
eyes out over being abused and tortured. Of course,
all this really was intended to keep the group from
winning the $3 for the task; whether Adam was late is
unclear, and depends upon who's looking at what clock
and how well they're set, but I nevertheless enjoyed
teaching the lesson.

I
don't know about you, but I am getting pretty damn
pissed off about those two (Mike and Joey) and how
they are dragging this game along. I have e-mailed
them, I have posted on the board, I have done
everything I can to try to make them wake up. At
least Mike posted; I'm starting to think Joey thinks
the game is over or something. Have you been in
contact with them at all? If I were you I'd have done
one of two things by now: either force them to play
the game for the final task by a certain deadline or
lose automatically, or simply call the segment off,
send out the quizzes, and see who if anybody gets his
in. If nobody does, nobody wins. It would suck for
that to happen, but it's better than having no
resolution at all! Do something about it! Thank you.

Final Entry
Dumb
and Smart - Took full advantage of Mike's mistake
of posting his score to the board by re-taking the
test enough times to beat him by one point. Loss:
Bonus Point
Messages - Posted message that was sent to me and
pretended that Joey was the Traitor trying to get us
all to do the opposite. Attempted to persuade others
to follow suit, but without success. Loss: $0.25
Games - Purposely lost a game of Pool against the
host. With two out of three victories required, put
the pressure on both Mike and Joey to win their games.
After the task was an automatic failure, placed the
blame on lazy Joey for not making contact with the
Host. Loss: Task value
Take care of yourself.
