Discover - Transister
The info gushes only wonderful superlatives such
as: "Transister is new. Transister is the better newcomer."
and claims that Transister achieved with its debut album a piece
that another, high-praised band would have gladly as its long-expected,
second album.
(Waschzettel) and press-information always uses these superlatives
and the richest colours. This time they are more justified than
ever. Transister is Pop and yet new. And should they have met Garbage,
which is very probable, it would have been a joy for them to produce
this album.
Not that Transister absolutely sounded like those, but parallels
can be recognized. Keely Hawkes is a woman who, with her (Hauchen),
clear and loud voice, sings in such a way that a good melody becomes
unforgettable. Gary Clark is a man who can draw all registers to
put the modern guitar to the cause, and Eric Pressly can play the
bass just as well.
Transister (schwelgt) in sounds, is quiet and loud, melancholic,
cheerful and always humorously, reservedly danceable, unbelievably
groovy and brings up a lot of feelings. The irresistible charm of
the disk however is the combination of fully-grown music with the
little-girl-appeal of Keely Hawkes. She is a singer who seems to
look wide-eyed into a world where everything is new, overpowering
and singular.
Catchy Pop with overwhelming charm and high entertainment value...
you can even call it "the better newcomer"!
