Candolim Beach

Candolim Beach is one of the most beautiful and popular beaches of North Goa. Candolim Beach is more peaceful than rest of other Goan beaches. This long and straight beach is backed by scrub-covered dunes. As located in North Goa, Candolim is the first beach when enters from Panaji. Aguda Fort and Calangute Beach are the prime attractions here. Beginning at Fort Aguada and ending at Chapora Beach, Candolim Beach is a part of a long stretch of beach coastline along Arabian Sea. This beach is really ideal place for those who are slowly getting tired of the crowded beaches like Anjuna and Calangute. Some of the hotels here offer Yoga and Meditation session. Beach also offers some adventure activities like Fishing, Parasailing and Water skiing. One can also enjoy sunbathing and swimming here. A number of inns at Candolim have really excellent facilities. The beach offers some of the best seafood of Goa. The town is also the birth place of Abbe Faria, one of the Great Goan Freedom Fighters and also the Father of Hypnotism.

Candolim Beach houses some of the famous tourist attractions of Goa. Fort Aguada, built in 1612 by the Portuguese is the prime attraction of the beach. This mighty fort in Goa is worth visiting. Candolim and Calangute are two beaches which lie on the northern side of this fort. This beach is also suitable for fishing and other activities. Some trips organized by professionals also include breaks for swimming and offer lunch in a heritage house and delightful dolphin watching boat trips. Beach also offers some of the fun activities which include parasailing, water scooters, snokerelling, fishing and crocodile spotting trips and boat rides. How To Reach Candolim Beach

A number of buses help people to reach from Mapusa and Calangute to Candolim. Mapusa, a KTC bus station, is the nearest interstate bus station. Buses from Panjim stop at the bus stand opposite to the Casa Sea Shell frequently. Some of the buses also continue south to Fort Aguada Beach Resort. Services depart from here onwards very frequently for the capital via Nerul village. Taxi service is also available outside the major resort hotels.
