Gujarat

Gujarat, one of the famous states in West India is most industrialized state of India. Capital of this state is Gandhinagar. This state attracts tourists from all over the world as it has several tourist attractions like Ahmedabad, Bhuj, Patan, Somnath Temple, Champaner and Sasangir. State of Gujarat is well known for its special events, fairs and festivals like Navratri, Janmashtmi, International Kite Festival, Kutch Utsav and Chitra Vichitra Fair. Tourist Attractions in Gujarat

Somnath Temple - Somnath Temple is one of the biggest attractions in Gujarat. This temple is located near Veraval in Saurashtra. It is also one of the twelve Jyotirlingas (Shiva shrine). Temple of Somnath is regarded as the most sacred shrine in Gujarat. The temple has been destroyed six times, but was rebuilt on each occasion.


Pratap Palace (Timings 10- 5am) - Pratap Palace is one of the distinguished monumental appeals of Jamnagar. This historical Palace is a fine blend of European architecture and Indian carvings. Jam Ranjitsinhji built this beautiful palace and decorated with neatly carved pictures of creepers, flowers, leaves, birds and animals.

Calico Museum - Ahmedabad houses one of the finest textile museums in the world. The Calico Museum of Textiles established in 1948 which is one of India's leading museums. Calico Museum is situated in one of Gujarat's famous carved wooden havelis. This beautiful museum displays a magnificent collection of rare textiles dating back to the 17th century.

Chorwad Beach - Chorwad Beach of Gujarat is a splendid and beautiful beach. From Junagarh, this beach is only at the distance of 66 km. The beach constitutes of rocky hills and presents opportunity for thrilling boat rides. Beach also provides the calm atmosphere and some entertaining water sports activities.

Dwarkanath Temple - This beautiful temple is situated at Dwarka. This temple is one of the important temples dedicated to lord Krishna. Ancient ruins of a city and temple complex found underwater in Arabian Sea. This is the must watch tourist attraction of Gujarat.

Sun Temple - Sun Temple is one more famous temple in this region. This temple is famous for its rare position as specifically and uniquely designed for the worship of the Sun. The main attractions of the Sun Temple are its beautifully designed complex architecture, painting and sculptures and central pond.

National Parks and Sanctuaries - Gujarat also offers some of the best national parks and sanctuaries of the country. Gujarat has 4 National parks and 21 sanctuaries. Gujarat is the only home of Asiatic Lions. The most famous park of Gujarat is Gir Forest National Park which is the place to see the rare Asiatic Lions.

Maharaja Fateh Singh Museum - The Maharaja Fateh Singh Museum is located in the city of Vadodara. This is a multi purpose museum which houses the Gaekwad family's rich collection of treasures. In the museum royal art collection includes European works, Greco-Roman, Chinese and Japanese art.
