The
Body Made Whole
My mother's body grew tired and weak
As the cancer grew inside
She was no longer capable of taking care of herself
And night after night she cried
Then my brother caught a rare disease
That he knew would take his life
And in an accident, I myself
Became blinded and lost my sight
My father had to have a minor operation
But ended up losing his leg instead
He could no longer walk around his yard
But spent most of his time in bed
Yes, the physical body deteriorates
But nothing can touch the soul
And blessed is the day when we become angels
For only then will we be made whole
No sickness or disease will afflict us
Our bodies will be perfect at last
And the frailties that we've known on this earth
Will become a thing of the past.
Crossing Over
When my time comes to leave this earth
When all of my chores are through
I have no fear of crossing over
And my friend, neither should you
I believe when the soul leaves the body
That I will not be there all alone
I know that I will be met by angels
To show me the way to God's home
I believe that I will be greeted
By all the loved ones who've gone before me
It will be a joyous reunion
To again see my family
So do not have any fear of death
For the angels will come to greet you
With open arms and filled with love
That's what happens when your work is through.
