playhouse3.gif (537411 bytes)For the second year, the Powell High Technology Education department, TSA members, and other volunteers creatively designed and constructed a playhouse to benefit the National Kidney Foundation (NKF) of East Tennessee. This year the chapter tried a new design: a boat called the U.S.S. Panther. This kid-friendly structure was auctioned on Saturday, March 16, at West Town Mall, for $1400.  All money raised went to the East Tennessee chapter of the NKF (www.nkfet.org).

TSA members, tech ed students, and advisors Jim Porter, Brian Reagan, and Tonya Vandergriff worked together to assemble in two days the main, three-level boat structure.

The playhouse design earned the "Most Creative" Award of all the 11 playhouses donated by schools and businesses from across the area.
