newrevolve.gif (26402 bytes) 2002 National Conference: "To Achieve & Succeed"

Powell High TSA had an excellent performance at the 2002 National TSA Conference. Sixteen students from Powell attended, along with ten students from Bearden, West, and Northwest MS who traveled with the chapter. All were supervised by advisors Brian Reagan, Jim Porter, and Tonya Vandergriff, and parent Sharon Winston.

We returned with one trophy (for Jennifer Cloud-- Tech Bowl Written) and twenty top-ten finalist pins, the most in more than six years.

Also at the conference, Jennifer Cloud earned the 2002 TSA Distinguished Student Award, an unprecedented honor that has been given only to national officers in the 24-year history of TSA. Mr. Brian Reagan, chapter advisor, made the presentation to Jennifer in the second General Session.   Additionally, Junior Amy Groner ran an excellent campaign for National TSA Vice President; the former Virginia State President won the close election after three run-off votes. Finally, chapter advisor Tonya Vandergriff-Williams was recognized for serving as the National TSA Advisor.
