The Upper Avon Car Maintenance Club is a volunteer group based in Durrington in the grounds of Upper Avon School. The club was formed in May of 1999 and has gradually grown with the support of a merry band of local volunteers and a grant from Wiltshire County Council. The club provides the youth of our community with a practical introduction to car maintenance and an environment that will encourage interest and make learning fun. The mission statement of the club is as follows;
“To deliver a car maintenance programme to young people between the ages of 13 and 19 outside school hours; providing enjoyable, practical and purposeful extra curriculum activities.”
The UACMC is open to the young people between the ages of 13 and 19, on the receipt of a signed enrolment form. However, due to Health and Safety constraints, group numbers may need to be capped.
