Hey, I'm Nolan. I live in The Middle of Nowhere. So I'm understandably excited to go to the Big City. I like music of the punk/emo/metal/country persuasion, books of the rand/thoreau/dickens persuasion, and movies of all kinds. My favorite cereals are frosted mini wheats and life, hey if mikey likes so do I. I love to debate and to just plain argue because its always fun to make someone think you're right even if you aren't. I live in a different timezone from the States. I hang around mostly only Asians. It is hot all year round. I own exactly 3 sweaters. I guess I am in for a real change! Well I could say that I'm really excited about meeting each and every one of you in person, but I'll take a different approach. Anyways, I'm somewhat disappointed U of C starts a month later than everyone else because all my friends will be off to college and I'll still be home, and then on the returning end, they'll all get out of school a month earlier. So I'll just have to tough it out. I don't really have any hobbies. I've been playing a lot of XBOX lately, and it's a bad addiction. I have sleepless nights because of that piece of plastic. I listen to just about everything except country and old and hard rock. I'm not quite the fan. My favorite bands are U2, Coldplay, the Cure and I like the Strokes. Oh yeah, and the best song right now is Still Fly by Big Tymers. If you havent heard it download it illegally. Please stop if it is legal. Anyways I wish I was living in the dorms...or perhaps I don't but I will be living on campus however in an apartment that my family owns and I will be living with my 25 year old brother who is a U of C grad student. So if you want to get away from the dorms stop on by...only a few at a time though...we'll discuss parties later. That is if the Class of 2006 parties? Til September, live life to the fullest cause once you hit those books there's no point of return.

I loved high school because of the people I knew. It was their diversity, perhaps not ethnically but intellectually, that made life worth living. Chicago looks to be the place where that can continue. The Beatles are the greatest band ever, followed by such greats as Led Zeppelin, the Doors and the Eagles. I have a baby sister who is only a year and a half old; that provides for some excitement around the house. I love to debate and write, and I hope I can be a part of the Maroon staff. I think Chicago is the greatest city in the world. It has a commercialized beauty that shows us the true power of man. Best wishes to all. I look forward to meeting you in September.
