Famous Flubs and
New Innovations

Back to Main

Occasionally, in the heat of the game, various players mispronounce certain words and lead to a whole new dimension in role-play. Likewise, sometimes running jokes can lead to added flavor in game play. New weapons, special forces units and alcoholic drinks have been born of such flubs and circumstances. A few high-impact examples are listed below.

The Martiki

The circumstances are long forgotten, but Jack and Sheila's efforts to drown their sorrows in drink led one of them to ask for a Martiki. Partaking of a Martiki has become a defining gesture for our team. The recipe for a Martiki will be posted shortly.

The SPOATS

In a classic GM flub, an attempt to send the British elite Special Boat Service in to rescue an American senator's daughter in Scotland, led to the deployment of the SPOATS in search of an American dentist. The SPOATS have since recruited player character Trevor Hardwick into their ranks. Ah yes, countless hours of fun have been had at the expense of the SPOATS ...

For more information on this elite special forces unit visit The SPOATS page, or check out the real SBS and SAS.

Smith & Messon

No ordinary weapon is good enough for recurring non-player character and former NYC police officer, Antos. After a particularly hair-raising car chase through the streets of Amsterdam, Antos hit a local bar to drink some beer while he 'fondled his Smith & Messon'!

The Electro Shock Cell Phone

What can I say? Sheila's player persona may be a thorn in the side of the GM at times. The GM's response to such stimuli was to jab said player in the side every time her cell phone activated. Thus, the Electro-Shock cell phone was born. Needless to say, switching it from vibrate to ring resulted in a rather loud ring.

The Electro-Shock cell phone has become an absolutely integral part of game play. It has the power to act as a stun gun, torture device, geological anomaly producer ...

Sheila has tried sending a letter to the company in an attempt to correct this, but in the world of fantasy role-play, some things never change.

The Toilet Termination

It seems that every time that the Orientally confused (Nun)Chuck kills someone, he does it in a restroom. Yes, 'terminate with extreme prejudice' is definitely passe. We now call it Toilet Termination.
