Hi! Ok, I've had a couple people ask me to put this here so here goes... I've been saved(asking God to forgive you of your sins and trying to do better for Him)for uhhh a lil over 5 years now. I thought I was when I was little. I was at VBS and alot of kids where going in this room so I thought that was just the right thing to do. Well, I got in there and they asked why we thought we wanted to get saved. I just sat and listened to what all the other kids were saying and when it got to my turn I just pointed to a kid and said "Uhhhh what he said.." I'd been to church since even before I was actually born but I really didn't understand what I was doing.
On Father's Day of '94 I was at a church sitting there listening to the Preacher and minding my own business when he said something that hit me..."If you were to go home today and something was to happen, where would you go? Are you 100% sure you would go to Heaven?" See, I(no, I didn't say we as in my church, mom or dad, etc...)believe there's a Heaven and a Hell. Now whether you do or not is up to you. But I knew if I was to be in an accident there was no way I'd go to Heaven. That might not mean much to you, but it scared me to death. Anyway, after church I went up to my mom almost crying and told her. She took me to the Pastor's wife and they talked to me. I asked Jesus to come into my life, and that was one of the happiest times in my life!
Well, I know I haven't been Lil Miss Perfect and by no means will ever be. I went to camp in '99 with my Youth Group and that really helped me more than any camp I've been to. Of course we had our fun and everything, but there was a time every day that it got serious and we were taught from our Youth leader or Preacher. Those messages really helped me, and I'm trying to do better. If ya get down, God will pick ya right back up and forgive ya. God had enough compassion to send his only son to be nailed to a cross. Jesus was beaten so bad that you wouldn't even be able to recognize him...they pulled His beard out, put swords in His side, put nails in His hands and feet, shoved a crown of thorns into His head, put a sack over His head and beat Him, and more. They treated him literally like a dog. Now how many of you would do that to your only son? But just think, if Jesus hadn't done that we'd all be stuck going to Hell...He went through all that just for YOU.
Now I may sound like I'm two grapes short of a fruitcake to you but that's not my problem. I've been going to church for almost 16 years now and I like it. I don't try to act like I'm better than anyone because I'm no where near it. I really don't think people should act like that either. You shouldn't have this "high and mighty" attitude because you could just as easily be in someone else's place just like that. If you ever need any help about anything at all I'll be right here, just ask...
