The Constitution

The Constitution of the Melbourne University Buddhist Studies Society will be available for download sometime in the future. This page will cover the most important points in the Constitution, in particular, the aims of the society.

The aims of the society are:

(i) to introduce and encourage the practice of qualities of truth, goodwill and compassion as according to the teachings of the Buddha;

(ii) to encourage the practice of meditation;

(iii) to encourage fellowship between members;

(iv) to encourage active participation in charity work;

(v) to promote inter-religion harmony.

Membership shall be open to:

(a) all students of the University of Melbourne,

(b) other persons who subscribe to the aims of the society.

For the year 2000, membership is free upon filling in a membership form.
