Thank You

The society has a small collection of songs mostly in English and Chinese written mostly by Asian artists. Hopefully sometime in the future and with the permission of the respective artists/copyright holders, we can include all the songs online as well as building on our current collection. But for the time being, we like to introduce you to our society song since 1992, "The Lotus Seed", written by a Malaysian named T. L. Hong. We like to send Mr. Hong our heartfelt gratitude not just for giving us permission to use the song but also for composing such a beautiful, inspirational, short and precise song about the Buddha Dhamma.

The Lotus Seed

Like the seeds of the lotus we are,

With the sunshine and rain we'll grow.

Standing virtuously above the muddy water,

Soon a pure white lotus we shall be!

The pure nature in us He realised,

With the Dhamma He shines the path.

Carefully and patiently, to us He shows the way.

Like the seeds of the lotus we are,

With the sunshine and rain we'll grow.

Standing virtuously above the muddy water,

Soon a pure white lotus we shall be!

A great teacher to us He is,

With love and kindness He guides us.

Gone are the impurities, one by one,

Perfect Buddha we shall be.

Words and music by T. L. Hong.
