The triple witching hour is the final volatile trading hour of the triple witching day. What happens on the triple witching day that spooks the financial markets?
Bond futures and foreign currency contracts expire on the day of the US Treasury bond auction
Bond futures, commodities options and stock options expire on the same day
Stock index futures, stock index options, and stock options expire on the same day
The consumer confidence index, consumer price index, and producer price index are released at the end of the same day
