The Intelligence Agency was established on October 2nd 2001 in respond to the terrorist attacks in New York City and Philadelphia on September 11th 2001. The Agency is attached to the office of the Secretary General and provides information to both there and the Security Council of the United Nations.

The Intelligence Agency gathers data and information all around the world. Its main task is to assist the other bodies of the United Nations in their effort for international peace and security. Terrorism threatens everybody in the world irrespective of race, colour, sex, language, religion, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status. Therefore a sustained effort of all nations in the world is necessary. The war on terrorism has just begun.
