Various branches
are in the course of formation to supply the Intelligence Agency with the
widest range of information possible. To accomplish its mission, the UNIA
engages in research, development, and deployment of high-leverage technology
for intelligence purposes. As a separate agency, UNIA serves as an independent
source of analysis on topics of concern and also works closely with the
other organisations of UN member states to ensure that the Security Council
receives the best intelligence possible. Two branches currently exist:
Political Research Centre: it is rather a network than a centre. it operates in co-operation with many civilian and military institutes. It regularly maintains conferences and seminars for experts concerning the threat of terrorism and their counter-measures. All new employees attend a basic orientation by the Centre and most receive on-the-job and formal classroom training through a wide variety of internal courses. Employees may also be sponsored for external university and professional training, both full-time and part-time, in programmes that are relevant to their jobs. Technical Research Centre: it constantly searches for facilities to defend against nuclear, biological and chemical warfare. All agents receive an all-embracing training in ABC-defense, self-defence, computer-analysis and other requiered subjects. The Centre is involved in electronic surveillance of terrorist movements. It creates and applies innovative technology in support of the intelligence collection mission. |
