Nevada at Atoll

Smoke clears away after a five-gun salvo from Turrets 3 and 4. The primary target was the island command post, a well fortified, bombproof shelter.

Early on the morning of June 18, 1945, the Nevada and the destroyers Murray and Taylor arrived of Emidj Island. Shortly after a Marine air group came over making a strike with no loss of planes or personnel.

On June 30, 1945, the Nevada joined forces with the California and West Virginia to become part of a patrol that would last unit the end of the war.
