SEEKING GOD'S DIRECTION TODAY

        The maturing, and the mature gay Christians have no need for this booklet. For them, the issue is already settled. The reality of their relationship with God makes the question of its legitimacy a moot point. Does God accept the homosexual, the bisexual, the transgendered or the transvestite on an equal status with all other people of faith? For the mature and maturing gay Christian, that's like asking if a loving father really loves his children. "Of course God accepts these," they respond. "God accepts me." While we may argue with their conclusion, we will never convince them otherwise.
  • Marsha Stevens, who wrote For Those Tears I Died, suggests that gay Christians stop worrying about those passages which would exclude them and instead concentrate on those passages which include them;
  • Candace Chellew, editor of the on-line bi-monthly magazine WHOSOEVER, titled her magazine this because John 3:16, which contains this word, does not say, "...whosoever except for gays, bisexuals and transgendered persons..." It just says "...whosoever..." that is, "...who-so-ever...";
  • K.S. Cowboy Bob, editor, webmaster and sole contributor of GAY CHRISTIAN ON-LINE, perhaps the best gay-Christian web site I have ever seen, refuses to get into arguments about whether or not, as a gay, he can be a Christian. He sees this as a waste of time and would rather concentrate on the reality of his relationship with God and provide the service to others like himself, which he feels God is calling him to do.
        The straight Christian will have the most use for this booklet. Those who are already convinced that this cause is right will possibly use this booklet as ammunition or as a tract. Many, who have not made up their minds, will use this booklet as part of their investigation of this issue. And finally, some in opposition to the gay issue will read this booklet so that they can be better prepared to counter the arguments contained here when they encounter them.
        But...the mature and the maturing gay Christians will probably have no use for this booklet.
        Is it possible that these people know something that we, the straight Christians, don't?
