Latest Rebels' news as of Febuary 13, 2002
A few quick messages from Lorraine...
Logitech Ice and Photo I.D.
Photo IDs must be brought to the next 2 games, and to the playoffs. This
does not mean leave them in your car. They may be checked. If you are
asked to show ID, you must. If you are not on the official roster, you
will be asked to leave, and the team will get a forfeit! If you don't
have a photo ID, they will assume you are a non-roster player, and the
team will get a forfeit. Period. Sorry, team!
Visit the Rebels Merchandise Store
Thanks to Tanya, her husband Gary, and their son
Jeremy for putting this site up!! The Rebels do not profit
by this. It is done merely as a convenience and fun benefit for
the team. To see the store, go to...

Winter Ice Hockey is here!
5-on-5 update:
- The 5-on-5 teams' ice hockey games are now in play. Check out
the 5-on-5 schedule on the Rebels' calendar.
3-on-3 update:
- Hockey WorkOut is changing the Women's 3-on-3 day /
time for the
2002 Spring season.
- Check out the 3-on-3 schedule on the Rebels'
calendar.
- The 2002 Winter season has been reduced to two teams: The
Rebels plus the combination team of remaining 2001 Fall players
from the Polar Cats and Spitfire.
- Team defense, -12 in goal differential for the season, played near
flawless hockey in its
final game to provide
the offense time to shine when the opportunities to score arose. In
the end, the Rebels could not do any better as a team. They were
near perfect AND now the HTHL 2001
Fall Champions!
Tournament update:
- The next tournament to be played will be in
Airdrie, AB, Canada
on the weekend of April 5-7. The San Francisco, CA-based
Spitfire will be the second U.S. team to play in this invitational
tournament.
- Check out the
2002 Tournament
page if you are looking for upcoming news about San Jose Valenti
Rebels' travelling tournaments for 2002.
- The Sharks (32-17-7-3, 74 pts)), with a 7-game winning streak,
continue to maintain their lead to 5-points in the Pacific Division over
Los Angeles (29-20-8-3, 69 pts).
Currently at the bottom of playoff spots in the Western Conference,
Dallas (27-21-7-4, 65 pts, 8th) is slipping while Phoenix
(26-22-8-5, 65 pts, 9th) is hanging on.
- NHL World All-Stars won 8-5 aggainst North American All-Stars.
The World squad's 2:57 outburst near the end of the third period marked
the quickest four goals, including two empty netters, in All-Star history.
Chicago's Eric Daze (2G) named the game's most valuable player. World
All-Star Teemu Selanne scored 2 goals in the first period against
G Patrick Roy and North American All-Star Vincent Damphousse had
two assists plus scored one goal against G Dominik Hasek. Owen Nolan
was held scoreless but had five shots on goal and was a +3.
- FYI: The North America All--Stars won last year's battle,
14-12, as Boston's Bill Guerin tallied a hat trick to claim MVP honors.
