The 2001 year had the Rebels playing in three 3-on-3 seasons.
The Winter season begins with the returning
Champion Hot Biscuits, Ice Queens, Rebels and a
new fourth team named the Polar Cats. The season turns out to
be a two team race with an exciting
championship game.
The Spring season had the Rebels out ready
to challenge for the Womens Division title again by winning three of
its first four games and ending the season with three victories. The
Rebels won their playoff
game in exciting fashion while a forfeit by the Polar Cats,
due to insufficient player lineup, gave the Rebels' 3-on-3 team its
fifth championship
title in the league's short history.
The Rebels took the summer off (only the second time in three years)
for player vacations and a new emerging power house, the Spitfire,
was making its presence known.
Returning to play hockey in the fall with the HTHL's Womens Division
collapsing to three teams, the Rebels split time between two very good
goaltenders but were last in team scoring. Team defense, -12 in goal
differential for the season, played near flawless hockey in its
final game to provide the offense time
to shine when the opportunities to score arose. In the end, the Rebels
could not do any better as a team. They were near perfect AND now the
HTHL 2001 Fall Champions!
