UPDATE 7 - FRIDAY 14th of JANUARY - 23:55 GMT +2
The holiday season saw several good developments in the DOV project, the most notable of which was the chance to really do some serious testing online to see just how the AI would behave and whether or not some of the units were overpowered. And surely enough, we did come across several little things I amended in the process of testing. Big thanks to a certain BrettonW for being a good sport and getting the stuffings knocked out of him time and time again during our momentous hours of debugging DOV.
One of the things that has recently been brought to my attention is that some of the units are reduntant or downright bad. This is the case with a certain two Yuri units I will be removing for the next major update. I will also be cleaning up the Technologies section of the biggest discrepancies and renaming some of the units while adding corresponding graphics. To give an example of just what I have done so far in terms of updating for the next version, check out the ! ReadMe ! I made for the test version me and BrettonW were waging war by. Also, if you are interested in picking up the latest version of the mod as well as the 30+ mb sound pack, I'd be more than happy to send it to you via AIM or mIRC.
I don't currently have RA2 installed because of a recent disc space emergency, but this situation will in all likelyhood be resolved soon enough.

UPDATE 6 - FRIDAY 19th of NOVEMBER - 03:27 GMT +2
Well, this update is long over due. An unfortunate mishap on my part has lead to the deletion of virtually all of the audio files from the mod, and while the coding still remains, I have to collect the files themselves and change them into the proper format. While this might mean little or nothing to anyone still actually following the development of this mod as the files I am referring to have never been released to the general public, it will slow down progress significantly (as if things are not going slowly enough as it is).
Regardless of my recent ventures into the realm of CPU corruption, things are moving along. The file up for download has been fixed and compacted to allow for easy installation and disposal of said product. If the process of advancing and refining the mod should reach a point of stagnation in the forseeable future, I will concentrate on improving this abomination of a web site. And, who knows, I might even add a whole new section containing my most sought after coding.
In other news, more screenshots are coming up sometime in the near future, this time courtesy of my SAS-happy lil' brother.

UPDATE 5 - TUESDAY 12th of OCTOBER - 21:03 GMT +2
Umm...yes...I kinda wish I hadn't said all the things I did in the previous update. After doing some coding on the fourth side, I came to a few critical conclusions: 1) The game won't allow me to include enough units to make the new faction entirely unique. 2) The fourth side cannot be implemented without screwing up the AI coding to a point where the game actually crashes if you attempt to play Short Game mode. 3) All the new sounds and graphics (the sounds mostly) would push the size of the download to ridiculous heights.
It is my intention, however, to keep some of the units I had already coded for the fourth side, and integrate them into the existing factions. In other news, I have updated some of the information in the Technologies section and hope to have images of the new units up and running soon. As for the screenshots, they are coming.
It has been brought to my attention that the download itself has been corrupt [FIXED Wed 13.10] for some time now, resulting in the portion of the mod containing all of the new graphics to be invalid. This will be amended as soon as I am finished with the next release, which will most likely take place next week, as I have the entire week off from school.

UPDATE 4 - FRIDAY 27th of AUGUST - 11:37 AM GMT +2
So anyway, while not much seems to be happening in the development department, my chief tester has persuaded me to start work on an entirely new faction, possibly replacing the Cubans.
As of this moment, many details are still to be worked on, but I can tell you a few things that are certain. The new faction will have entirely new architechture for its structures, and it will feature at least two dozen new units, not to mention the new Super Weapons, various unique technologies, and defensive sturctures I am coding at the moment...
Just to give you a preview on some of the things I have already finished, I pledge to post several new screenshots of Al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigade units within the next week.

UPDATE 3 - TUESDAY 3rd of AUGUST - 8:20 PM GMT +2
Release 3 is here which doesn't mean much in terms of the actual mod, but there are a few fixes I'd like to mention here nonetheless. First of all, I've pinpointed and amended the source of chrashes in the Orca Transport. To round it all off, I've created a new multiplayer mode: Full Disclosure.
The only new unit is the Libyan/Iraqi Radiation Tank, the Yuri Transport Disc has been removed due to issues concerning the coding.
Like the previous version, this version also supports a 26mb sound pack, but the problem is that I can't seem to find a place willing to host such a file and maintain a decent transfer ratio. Should you be willing to host my Sound Pack, or know any party willing to do so, get in touch with me ASAP.

Apparently, the douchebags at Geocities saw it fit to put a heterosexually-challenged banner on this site. Just as well I suppose, it's not like I'd ever pay for something this impressive.
The second release of DOV is here, and it features some pretty awesome machinery, such as the Chrono Prison, the Subterannean Transport, the Dragon Tank, and the Laser AA-Tower...just to name a few.

UPDATE 1 - WEDNESDAY 16th of JUNE - 4:32 AM GMT +2
Well well well, what do we have here? Could it possibly be that foo' old Tocks the Toxmeister
has finally put together some sort of web page for his little plug and play YR mod Dawn Of Victory ? Yes indeed, drop that knife, call the kids out
from the bomb shelter, your eyes are not decieving you. This is it, the official homepage of DOV. It may not be much right now, but I plan on
improving the outlook and content whenever I find the time. Or not.
In any case, this update is to announce the launch of this site as well as the first public release of DOV.
The site itself houses a comprehesive listing of the changes and tweaks DOV makes to YR as of version 0.3. I am still between servers, so this address
may change in the future.
