Dawn Of Victory - Eastern Companionship

 Eastern Companionship

The tiny island state of Cuba was one of the few places that experienced no effects of the flux whatsoever. As it seems, fate is not one lacking in a sense of irony. The flow of refugees was reversed, as Cuba was now an ideal habitat for humans. This lead to a specialization of techonlogies. A completely new naval unit was taken into service to help cope with the daily swarms of refugees, the Suicide Jet Ski. Cubans lacked to the funds and time to develop a high tech mechanized unit to deal with the issue, so a cheap solution was reached. Volunteer freedom-fighters are provided rudimentary training and are shipped off to ram their explosive -packed Jet Skis into incoming ships. The Terrorist unit lost its purpose a a conventional combat-asset, so further training of recruitees has provided the State with an invaluable resource: The Terrorist Hijacker, whose primary purpose is to function behind enemy lines in the form of a saboteur. Cuba is also the base of a vast fleet of tireless Submarines and their valiant crews. Cuba is an important source of agricultural products for its allies.

Iraq's population were used to miserable living conditions, and the propaganda machine pinned the effects of the flux on a Western 'Weapon of Mass Destruction'. The numbers and morale of the armed forces soared. With the help of a motivated public, the long-delayed nuclear program began to yield results in the form of a new power source. The Single Reactor is an extremely efficient source of power, and while not as impressive as the Russian Reactors, it is relatively safe. The Field Artillery unit is another creation specifically suited for the harsh desert climate. In general, the Iraqi army is much more offense-orientated due to the general lack of direct threats, as Iraq's only natural resource, oil, is under the control of occupying Russian and Lybian forces. The most important thing Iraq contributes to the Eastern effort is its resiliant populous, only bested by the humble Russian.

Libya resides in close vicinity to some of the worst affected areas, with a constant flood of refugees. The Arms Industry was quick to come up with an extremely cheap method of frontier control: the mass production of cheap close-range Shotguns. Due to the inhospitable terrain of Libya, refugees wondering in the desert for weeks are drawn to areas of population for help are met by militia-men armed with government-issued Shotguns - and a license to kill. The main harbour of the Companoinship's Mediterranenan fleet resides in the safe waters Libya, so encounters with mainly Russian-built Submarines on Western trading routes are daily. Libya's vast coastline is proteced by intimidating home-made Pocket Battleships, whose purpose is to scare away waterbound refugees as well engage any Western intrusions as Submarines are notoriously slow to deploy.

Russia, despite having taken major punisment in terms of lives and resources, is the carrying force of the Companionship. The sheer number of resources still available to the Russians has the other allies eating from the palm of the Premier. Russia's unique technologies include an evolved Dreadnaught and a special Tesla Commando. Despite holding back from its allies in some respects, it is in Russia's favour to arm her allies in the best possible way. The vast frontiers Russia has to defend have contributed to the creation of several defensive and offensive methods. The Defensive Turret is a structure most commonly seen in roadsides, waiting to ambush vehicles trying to cross into Russia, and is particluarly effective with the close support of the elite Spetznaz Commandos. Offensive power is provided by the reinforced Airforce. Russia now has both quick-response SU27 Flankers, and heavy MiG Bombers at its disposal. Light Airships and Multiple V3 Launchers offer more conventional offensive support. Russia's secret Space Program offers commanders a way of countering the ever so menacing Western Rocketeers: The Cosmonauts. Russia's naval aspirations have resulted in the creation of an elite fleet of Nuclear Submarines: the long-range Akulas.
