Western Coalition
Britain has been a formidable naval power for the past several centuries, and
the events of the past decade have only furthered its naval ambitions.
The immediate need for formidable coastal defenses pushed forward a project which lead
to the creation of stationary gun turrets, preferably placed in startegic areas.
Old Combat Cruisers were also called back into duty.
But perhaps the most important contribution the British made is the Goliath,
ideally suited to counter airbound threats as well as infantry intrusion.
The major cities of Germany took particularly brutal punishment during the flux, but
the German spirit and ingenuity managed to keep Germany as one of the pivotal States
struggling for world power. Germans have always been renowned for their brilliant deployment
of armor, and the decade since the flux has seen many a improvement in this field.
Besides improving their Tank Destroyer, the Germans have created two completely new armored units;
the inexpensive rapid-deployment Light Tank, and Predator Assault Walker.
Germany, together with its other European allies also took part in the creation of a pan-European
new strike-bomber, the Eurofighter.
The political and financial infrastructure of France remanined intact, the biggest burdain of the
flux was placed on the less-urbanized countryside. Because the population of France miraculously survived
with little losses, France now has among the largest infantry forces in the world. This has prompted the French development of military technology
to focus on infantry and long range combat even more so than before. The Combat Guard Tower was the
first of a line of improvements designed to make French soldiers even more formidable on the battlefield.
Specialized divisions of Field Medics were founded together with the Americans. Latest developments in armor
technology, and the French tradition of fortification, have produced a brand new long range unit: The Juggernaut Combat Walker,
which is ideally suited for combat in all theatres of war.
It was seen best not to share this unit with the other allies, because the French
did not place as high hopes on the newly-developed Eurofighter as the rest of the Coalition.
Korea was the Coalition country that actually benefited from the horrors of the flux.
While everyone around became weaker, the Koreans suddenly found themselves among the
leading military powers in the eastern hemisphere. This, and numerous geographical reasons encouraged the
Americans to form close relations to Korea. The nature of this relationship becomes evident when looking at
the armed forces of the respective powers. The Americans have given their Korean allies access to their elite Delta Forces while sending
'second-rate' special forces to Europe. Korea was also given a squadron of American F-22 Raptors to back up the
strained Black Eagles. The numerous American naval bases in Korea have given the Koreans a chance to
observe and replicate American technology. Korea has begun deploying Sonic Resonance tanks, which utilize
the same technology as the Dolphins.
America, land of the free, home of the brave, was thrown into complete chaos by the flux. Hundreds of thousands
perished, and the country was in the verge of collapse as numerous minor parties and militias gained more and more power
on the streets. Eventually, after the remaining representaives of central power had institiued a brutally enforced martial
law, things began to stabilize. The acute shortage of soldiers was met with the reinstituting of the draft.
America's high technology enabled her to learn from the effects of the flux: The new battle tank desperately sought after by
American commanders, the Mark II Abrams, is completely immune to radiation. The Parasite Shock Trooper, on the other hand, is
a combination of the American chemical weapons program and the lessons learned from the flux.
More conventional units include the Sidewinder Anti-Air/Anti-Armor Rocket and the Hunter-Killer Submarine.
The most impressive unit, and therefore exclusive to the Americans, the Nimitz Class Carrier is undoubtedly
the king of seas. Its incrased range, firepower, defenses, and overall self-sufficience are simply unparallelled.
