This is what my lessons teacher always says about bassoon! Here's proof: In German, bassoon is fagott, and gott is the word for God!!

Here's my awesome page for Bassoonists!!! We're going to talk about playing bassoon, and all of the "tricks of the trade." If you have anything that you would like to see added to this page, feel free to e-mail me!!

This page is REALLY new, so I REALLY need all of you bassoonists to e-mail to tell me what I should add to this page!!! Please and thank you!!

Are your keypads falling off because you have a junky school instrument? Bob the Bassoon advice to the rescue!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If your keypad falls off here's what you do (this is what the pros do!): First, look to see if there's still glue on the keypad. If there is, GOOD!!! If there isn't, BAD!!! If there isn't, then go get it fixed by an expert!! Sorry! If there is, then put the keypad back on. Make sure that it fits right, and all that. Make sure that it is in the same spot it was in before. You don't want any air leaks. Then, light a match under the key. The glue will melt, and re-adhere to the key!! All better! PLEASE keep in mind that you are playing with fire!!! DON'T CATCH YOUR INSTRUMENT ON FIRE!!! Take a look at what would happen if you caught your intrument on fire here

Here's an interesting thing that I found out about my bassoon: The Bb key has three holes under it!!! It's pretty cool! Take a look at your instrument and see if it has three holes!! It looks like a face! Also, the G key has two holes under it! The second one is REALLY small though.

Tips for the Beginning Bassoonist
Lots of tips for begginning Bassoonists. I'm not a beginer (well, I'm SORT OF a beginer) and I learned some stuff from this page!!!!

Bassoon Drawings
This web page is a collecttion of drawings of REALLY FUNNY bassoon players. There is also a collection of stringed instruments drawings.

Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp
Blue Lake is a REALLY COOL fine arts camp in Muskegon, Michigan. It's REALLY FUN there!!!!

The Contra Bassoon
An AWESOME site about the ContraBassoon. Take a look at one of Bob's cousins!!!

This summer I learned about some really cool bassoon excercies by Simon Kovar, calles "24 daily studies for bassoon." Simon Kovar is a bassoon guru who was among the first to compose excercises. His excercises are really good, however, if you practice them for too long, you could drive yourself CRAZY. However, they improve your playing a LOT!!! They teach your fingers the patterns between notes, they help you learn tenor clef, and they can strengthen your playing in all areas.
