Goku (a.k.a. Son Goku): The main character of the series, the hero, the one who always saves everyone, the one with the bottomless pit for a stomach, etc, etc. Husband to Chi Chi, father to Gohan and Goten, and grandfather to Pan. In GT, Goku finishes training Ubuu, but is accidentally turned into a kid by Pilaf with the Black Star Dragon Balls. As a kid, he loses his ability to teleport properly, and use the SSJ3 form properly. He acheives Super Saiya-jin 4 by first, having Rou Kaioushen pull out his tail, then absorbed the light of the Full Earth on Planet Tsfuru, turning him Golden Oozaru. Then, Pan helped him regain his reasoning so he can harness the Oozaru form and turn into Super Saiya-jin 4. In the end, he dies while trying to beat Ii Shinlon, but he fights off death to collect energy for a Genki Dama (Spirit Bomb) to beat him. His spirit is then merged with Shenlon to purify and protect the Dragon Balls and the Earth hence forth.

Forms: Super Saiya-jin 1, Super Saiya-jin 2, Super Saiya-jin 3, Oozaru, Golden Oozaru, and Super Saiya-jin 4.

Attacks: Kamehameha, Genki Dama (Spirit Bomb), Kikou, Renzoku Energy Dan, Oozaru Fire Blast (In Oozaru, Not Named), 10X Kamehameha (SSJ4), Taiyo-ken, Energy Full Power, Ryu Ken Bakuhatsu, and Kamikaze (not named).

Fights

Ubuu: Episode 1; to finish off the training, they fought until both collapsed.

Amiga Guards: Episode 4; beat up a bunch of guards to take back their ship.

Ziguel and Veijan: Episode 4; blasted each other, but they were no match.

Ledgic: Episode 5; fought him and won when he turned Super Saiya-jin.

Doma: Episode 9; basically just beat up a bunch of giant worms.

Mutchy: Episode 12; fought until Mutchy sucked the energy out of Goku, but Trunks killed him in one blast when Super Saiya-jin.

Lude: Episodes 13-14; Fought, with Trunks, to a stalemate until Pan tells him of Lude's weakness though the Paras. Pan and Goku blasted the heart together to destroy him.

Red Desert Serpants: Episode 15; beating up a bunch of giant worms again.

Mega Cannon Sigma: Episode 18; when Goku fought, there were only 3 left. After a bit, they combined into one "Mega Energy Cannon Sigma", but Goku beat them anyways.

Rirudo: Episodes 19-21; they fought in their normal forms, then as Hyper Mega Rirudo (combines with Mega Cannon Sigma) vs Super Saiya-jin Goku, and finally as Metallic Rirudo vs SSJ Goku. Rirudo manages to turn Goku into a metal slab when Pan arrives.

Bebi: Episodes 22, 27, 34-39; Blasted him at Dr. Myuu's lab, but he survived. Later he possesses Vegeta, and beats Goku. Then, after getting Goku gets his tail back, they fight again, and Bebi-Vegeta still wins. But Goku turns Golden Oozaru and overpowers the Bebi Vegeta. Later, Pan helps Goku get his reasoning back, and Goku turns SSJ4. SSJ4 Goku beats Bebi, but Bebi is turned into a Golden Oozaru by Bulma. In the end, SSJ4 Goku beats the Golden Oozaru Bebi Vegeta.

Gohan: Episode 27; faced him when Gohan was controlled by Bebi, wasn't a match.

Goten: Episode 27; same as above.

Tenkaichi Budoukai: Episode 41, got into the kids division finals, but lost when Vegeta distracted him. The other kid shoved Goku off, then tickled him til he fell to the ground.

Cell: Episodes 43-44; was never a match, got vapourized partially with a Kamehameha. Also, manages to absorb Goku with his tail. Too bad it was ineffective, and Goku escaped. Later, Cell and Freeza used the Hell Buster, which proved ineffective in the end, and Goku wound up freezing him in a block of ice.

Freeza: Episodes 43-44; same as above, without the Kamehameha, and absorption part. Got sliced up by his own Kienzan again, but they can't die in Hell.

Super 17: Episodes 46-47; SSJ Goku wasn't a match. SSJ4 Goku kept blasting him, but he absorbs energy. Later tries to destroy Super 17 by an exploding of energy (not suicide though), but 17 gets a barrier up. In the end, when 18 shows up and starts blasting 17, Goku discovers his weakness. He's locked into one position when absorbing energy, so he uses a Ryu Ken Bakuhatsu to punch through him, then a Kamehameha to vapourize him.

Ryan Shinlon: Episode 49; the power of his poison weakens Goku too much, but they (with Pan) find clean water, rejunvenate, and blast Ryan with Kamehamehas.

Uu Shinlon: Episode 50; when he absorbs the electricity from all around, he is able to electrocute them to death. But a sudden rain storm comes along and shorts him out. Later vapourized by Goku when he tried to attack Pan.

Ryuu Shinlon: Episode 51; attacks able to pin Goku down, but Pan discovers a vulnerablity. Top side is defenceless, so she blasts her with a Kamehameha there, allowing Goku to blast his Kamehameha to beat her.

Chii Shinlon: Episodes 52-53; at first, very stupid, beaten by his own attack. But then possesses Pan and is greatly improved, and Goku is unwilling to fight. He saves Pan though, and shows no mercy on Chii.

Suu Shinlon: Episodes 54-56; first Kid Goku fought Red Body Suu Shinlon for a bit. Then SSJ4 Goku took on Golden Body Suu Shinlon. Suu Shinlon turned out to be the one with greater speed, but Goku is still stronger. San Shinlon intervenes in their fight.

San Shinlon: Episodes 56-57; froze Goku in a block of ice, but Suu Shinlon freed him. Then SSJ4 Goku has him beat, but he begs for mercy. Suu pleads for him too, and Goku gives it. San uses this opportunity to attack, and manages to blind him. But Goku punches him, then used a Ryu Ken on him to finish him off.

Ii Shinlon: Episodes 57-63; beats SSJ4 Goku. Then Goku gathered the energy from Trunks, Gohan, and Goten to surpass SSJ4 to beat Ii. Then Ii absorbs the Dragon Balls to get the powers of all the Evil Dragons, surpassing Goku's powers. Vegeta comes, and turns SSJ4 with the help of Bulma's Brute Ray. They fuse to Gogeta, but unfuse before Ii is beaten. Goku grabs the 4 star ball and swallows it. Later, Suu shows up to help, but fails. Then finally, Goku uses a Genki Dama to finish Ii off, before dying himself.

Krillen: Episode 64; just a spar with Krillen before he went off with Shenlon. Krillen won.


Ubuu: At the end of DBZ, Buu split into two, one evil (orignal form), one had the good it developed when friends with Mr. Satan. When Goku was facing Buu (evil orignal form), Goku used a Genki Dama (Spirit Bomb) to finish Buu off. But near the end, he wished that Buu can come back as a good person, so they can fight again. Enmadaiou-sama (King Yama) heard that request and granted it. Buu was reincarnated as a human boy named Ubuu. 10 years after the Buu fight, Goku sensed a large power approaching the 28th Tenkaichi Budoukai. There they met, but Ubuu had no training, just enourmous hidden potential. So, Goku decided to train him, which ended DBZ. In GT, Goku has finished training Ubuu and he goes home. When Bebi invaded Earth, he hid himself to train some more, and showed up on Planet Tsfuru to face Bebi. He lost, and Buu (Fat one) had to save him. There they combined to one again, and faced Bebi again, but still lost. After that, he becomes one of the supporting fighters.

Appearances: Episodes 1, 32-34, 38-45, 58, 60-64

Forms: Normal Human, and Combined with the powers of Majin Buu.

Attacks: Kikou, Renzoku Energy Dan, Kamehameha, Ubuu's Energy Beam (not named), Energy Twister (not named), and Turn to Chocolate (not named).

Fights

Goku: Episode 1; at the end of his training, fought with Goku until they both collapsed.

Bebi: Episodes 33-34; the first fight he lost, then combined with Buu, but still lost when turned himself into a chocolate.

Mr. Satan: Episode 41; beat others in the Tenkaichi Budoukai, Satan was in the finals. Was going to win, but Buu convinced him not to because to the people, Satan's a hero.

Saibamen: Episode 43; residents of Hell escaped, Ubuu blasted a whole bunch of Saibamen.

Rirudo: Episode 44; Gohan was fighting him, but got his limbs turned into metal. Ubuu took him out with a single blast.

Super 17: Episodes 44-45; Super 17 kicked everyone's ass, enough said. lol

Ii Shinlon: Episode 58; fought Ii to buy time for the others to give Goku their energy. Ubuu was taken out quite quickly.


Dende (a.k.a. Kami-sama, God, Guardian of the Earth): The Namek child Gohan and Krillen met while they were on Planet Namek. Has healing powers, and later becomes the Kami (God) of Earth. In GT, he is still Kami.

Appearances: Episodes 1, 27-28, 38-40.


Mr. Popo: Keeper of Kami's Palace, and the assistant to Kami. Has been for at least several Kamis (Gods). In GT, still the assistant.

Appearances: Episodes 1, 27, 38-40.


Pilaf (a.k.a. Pilaf-sama, Emperor Pilaf): The little blue dwarf from the beginning of Dragon Ball, still bent on world domination. The self-proclaimed emperor has two very loyal minions, Shu and Mai. In GT, Pilaf and crew make their way to Kami's Palace and uncover the Black Star Dragon Balls. After summoning Shenlon, he accidentally wishes for Goku to be a kid, and that's basically his entire role in GT.

Appearances: Episodes 1, 40.


Shu (a.k.a. Shao): The ninja dog that loyally works for Pilaf, since the beginning of Dragon Ball. In GT, he's still with Pilaf, and they reached Kami's Palace to find the Black Star Dragon Balls.

Appearances: Episodes 1, 40.


Mai: Pilaf's loyal female minion from the beginning of Dragon Ball. In GT, still with him, and was part of the team that infiltrated Kami's Palace to find the Black Star Dragon Balls.

Appearances: Episodes 1, 40.


Shenlon (a.k.a. Shenron, Shenlong, The Eternal Dragon): The dragon that is summoned out the Dragon Balls to grant you your wish(es). In GT, there are two versions, a red one from the Black Star Dragon Balls, and the green one from the normal Earth Dragon Balls. The red one disappeared with the Black Star Dragon Balls when Piccolo died. In the end, the green one takes Goku and the Dragon Balls away to fuse with and disappear forever.

Appearances: Red Version: Episodes 1, 28. Green Version: Episodes 63-64.


Kaiou (a.k.a. Kaiou-sama, North Kaiou, King Kai): The Kaiou (World King or Gods of Gods) in charge of the northern regions of the galaxy. Goku came to him as a student, and he's kept tabs on him ever since. In GT, he tells Goku that his condition (turned into a kid) can only be fixed by using the Black Star Dragon Balls again. Then, he later finds out that the Black Star Dragon Balls destroy the planet they are used on if they are not returned to the planet, which starts GT's quest. Later still, he's first to tell Goku that the evil dragon they summoned is not Shenlon, and in the end, he helps broadcast Goku's voice to the galaxy to complete a Genki Dama (Spirit Bomb) to kill Ii Shinlon.

Appearances: Episodes 1, 48, 63.


Roshi (a.k.a. Kamesennin Mutenroshi, Turtle Elder, The Ancient Wise One, The Master of Martial Arts, Master Roshi): Goku's old martial arts teacher. The style of Kame (Turtle), and the specialty move is the Kamehameha. In GT, he's the first to recognize Kid Goku, and also appears in the end, when Goku goes to say good-bye to a few people.

Appearances: Episodes 1, 40, 64.
