Mephisto

History: The brother of Diablo and Baal. He is the best spell caster of the three. [That’s why ice and lightning resist is essential.] He is found in the Durance of Hate level 3 in Act 3.

Attacks: [His attacks are similar to the sorceress’]
Ice orb [without the ice bolts]
Lightning [similar to sorceress' lightning]
Poison aura [a deadly poison gas that poisons anyone who gets near]
Physical attack
Blizzard [similar to sorceress' blizzard]
Charged Bolt [similar to sorceress' charged bolt]
[evil spirit] [an evil spirit that rises out of the ground to deal damage]

How his attacks work: His orb, charged bolt, and lightning are his main spells. Like a cold sorceress, his cold orb pierces your cold resists. That’s why you need to stock up on cold resist [getting more than 75% will help. Ex: if Meph's orb reduces your resist to ice by 50%, and you have 100%, even though the character screen will list it at 75%, your new cold resist will be 50%].

Similar to the sorceress, Mehpisto's lightning attack has a very random damage [from 1 to its max damage]. It can do a lot, or very little. To avoid taking 16,342,400 damage in 1 attack, get 75 resist to lightning, and the likelihood of getting killed is significantly lowered.

How to kill: Make sure you have the Act 3 Level 2 Durance Waypoint. Before going in, make sure you have shiver armor casted. Then teleport up to him, cast static field until he goes to half, teleport away, then orb him to death. Although its easy to just stand there and orb him to death, try to weave in and out of his attacks so you don't have to buy potions every 5 runs or so. Ex: If I tanked him, I would have to use 1 health potion, but if I dodged his attacks, then no potion is required.

Watch out for: Blizzard. He tends to cast this far away when you are at low life. You NEVER see this coming, so make sure you have teleport on a hoykey thats easy to access.
