I am 20 years old, borned in March 8, 1984. I am from Hong Kong, but I joined an exchange program when I was 17. I had the option of picking what country, but not the city, I want to go to. I wanted to go to England, however, it was not available and I chose to come to the United States. By choosing the United States, I was expecting to be assigned to places like New York City, Chicago, Los Angeles, Seattle etc. When I found out I was going to Albuquerque, New Mexico, I was shocked. I had never heard of this place and I thought I was going to Mexico. Although I was assigned to come to a place that hardly anyone has heard of, I am glad that I came. Being an exchange student and coming to the United States are the most important transitions in my life. I broadened my horizon and learned to be independent, which are things that I would not be able to do in Hong Kong.
