ON THE MOVE
HOME GROWING UP ON THE MOVE SPECIAL DEDICATION BE LINKED GUESTBOOK

Travel has been my # 1 passion.  As long as I have some spare $$ and there are good companions to travel with, I would like to take the opportunities to go.  Especially during back-packed, good understanding and humour can go a long way to make your trip a special and unforgettable ones or the other extreme of your experience.

WHO TO GO WITH?

So be wise in your choice of your companions or else you may regret wasting the 10  to 20 plus days of annual leaves.

So far, I have enjoyed the back-packed more as compared to those pre-arranged guided tour.  Of course, you need not worry much if everything is planned for you, your only responsibility is just to follow, shop, eat and enjoy wherever, whatever is brought before you.  Though backpacked was more tiring and at any moment, plans could simply change, just like those incidents that happened in Europe, touching Basil (Switzerland) only to head back to Paris to retrieve the $2000 that was kept inside the hotel pillowcase for "safety purpose".  I must say that kind of re-tracked might not work in some countries, since the hotel reception would probably pretend that they did not see it. So our itinerary simply change to southward instead of eastward as previously planned.

WHAT CAN YOU EAT?

Depending on your companions, you may have the chance to try some "funny" delicacies if all agreed, this will boost up your courage for one another.  So what was the challenging item that was crushed inside my mouth????.... That cooked stuff inside the cotton cocoon when I visited the silk factory in China, after its thread had been drawn from the outer cover. Taste?  Like biting into a cockroach.  (Sorry, for those who actually took it as a delicacy).

HOW MUCH TO BRING?

When in foreign country, remember to calculate your exchange rate carefully.  We were so happy in the first morning in Paris, that we actually mistook a S$5.00 ice-cream crepe as S$0.50 per piece. After stomached it, then we realised what an expensive street-side dessert.  It is always good to bring a little more money when overseas, as you never know what this extra could tie you through some unexpected events that you did not ask for, like the expensive taxi ride we had to pay when getting to Shantou in China.

Here, I had chosen four episodes of my travel experiences to share with you my wonderful and happy moments... and also panicky and dangerous encounters.

So read on.....
