Description

Generic Noulqua are small, canine-like animals. They have long, arching necks, stilt-like legs build for running, and very agile bodies. Thier ears are long and pointed, makikng up a predominant feature of the Noul. Tails are skinny, but covered in long, silky fur. All legs sport thick forelocks of the same silky fur. Forelegs tend to be cloven hooves, while hindlegs are four-toed paws.

Noul, in size, are very small. They tend to be lithe (although there are exceptions) and short. They grow no larger than the size of a small cat, between 6-12 inches. Females tend to be much smaller than males.

Aging

Noulqua have a total of three 'stages' (you do not receive images for each stage). The first is the kitten. This stage lasts until the kitten is two vykeli-months (a vykeli month is equal to one real-time week. One vykeli year, is equal to one real-time month. Meaning that Vykeli has only four months.) old, in which it reaches sexual maturity. During the first month of its life, kittens cannot train. They can train after that month, and breed once they reach the next stage. You may neuter your Noul during the first stage.

Second, is the adult. Adult Noul's can train, breed, and enter shows. You are no longer allowed to neuter your Noul, as it has probably taken its place in its Tomb, or pack, and changing its gender would confuse the other pack members. This stage lasts for a full 30 years (or 30 months/2 years real-time). After that, the adult turns into an elder.

In the Elder stage, the Noul become essentially retired. They cannot breed, show, or train any longer. They become nothing more than pets. You can set your old Noul free, or put it down, but this will cost you SS. Plus, it's not a very nice thing to do. I suggest selling it to someone who wouldn't mind have a few retired vetrans in their home. This stage lasts for 5 years (5 months), after which the Noul will pass away.

So all together, a Noul has a life span of 35.5 years. After the Noul dies, it will be sent to the offical graveyard. You may, of course, make a private graveyard in respect of your deceased Noul if you so prefer.

Region

Noulqua are desert animals. They fair well in extremely hot temperatures, and their silky coats keep dust, sand, and dirt off of their skin and eyes. Their long legs are well adapted for travelling quickly across desert terra. Although Noulqua have been bred to come up with different builds and types, all Noulqua have a love of the desert. Even Tundra-Biome types!

Diet

Noul's are omnivorous. Living in the desert, they'll eat just about anything than can find, from grass to rotting meat. In captivity, it is best to feed Noul a balanced diet of fresh berries, nuts, and meat. What you feed your Noul can effect its stats and training (see training section for more information).

Ranks

Noul group themselves in things called Tombs. Tombs consist of 2 to 20 members. Even captive Noul (such as our own) will eventually group themselves into Tombs. You may name the Tomb(s) of your Nouls, and seperate them into such groups if your kennel become crowded, but you must make sure that you state in their pedigree that they are part of said Tomb.

There are several ranks within a Tomb, making up the hierchy of Nouls.

King - The lead pharoh. He is allowed to breed with any queen he desires, and will often create a 'harem' for himself. If a birth right king, the Noul will sport a unicorn-like horn.

Princess - Up to three queens. These are the Kings three favored females (often daughters or mates). They have say over the rest of the Tomb, and sometimes even on the King!

Priest - 1 or 2 pharohs. Very rarly queens. These are the Kings advisors and quite often the healers of the Tomb. Priests always mate for life.

Prince - Up to 5 pharohs. Given privlages above the priests, but still of lesser rank. Princes act as guards, organizers, hunters and planners of the Tomb.

Squire - Up to 7 pharohs and 5 queens. These act as guards and warriors for the Tomb.

Seer - 1 of either gender. Seers are those few fortunate (or unfortunate depending) that can correctly predict the future. They're actual place in the heirchy depends on the king's view of them. Some kings like seers, others despise them.

Servant - Unlimited pharohs and queens. Subordinates. Just basically any old Tomb-member. Servants make up the kitten-watchers, gatherers, hunters, story-tellers, etc.

Concubine - Up to 5 per Noul. The queens (and sometimes pharohs) that make up the king's harem. Can also be part of the princes' or princesses' harems if the king allows it.

Slave - Up to 3 of either gender. The lowest of the low, slaves are often ill treated by the rest of the tomb and used as scapegoats and task-carriers.

*Harems: Harems are breeding groups. Harems do not need to be part of a formed tomb, they just need 1-3 pharohs, and several queens. These pharohs are the only males allow to breed with the queens in the harem. Queens in harems have a better chance at kittens with higher stats, rarer colorations, higher ranks, and just overall better breeding. Harem litters tend to be larger as well, due to the number of Noul capable of taking care of the kittens.
