Have you ever wondered how to set up a business in Romania? No, maybe not. Why should you?

But now, maybe tomorrow you will be in Bucharest and you will find the deal of the year. Why miss it ?!? This must not happen. You can set up a firm based in Romania. Of course, if you work at Transnational Corp. and your company is present in 100 countries, your legal firm will know all about it. And more!

To set up a company in Romania you must follow the following steps:

1) Obtain the evidence that the name (and logo) for the company are free;

2) The authentification of the constitutive documents with a public notary;

3) Deposit of the capital;

4) Forwarding of the registration application to the Trade Registry Office;

5) Advertising the firm in the official publication "Monitorul Oficial";

6) Obtaining the fiscal code from the Department of Public Finances;

All these are usually done by your lawyer. The lawyer's fee for a complete service can range from 500.000 lei (aprox. USD 60) to higher amounts for a complex firm. The minimum fee is charged for a firm with minimum capital. The higher the capital, expect higher legal fees.

As soon as you have the Fiscal Code you can go to the bank, open bank accounts and transform your capital deposit in money in an account.

With each new operation or certification expect to be asked of all the previous documents issued to you. So get prepared with photocopies for all the documents so you do not have surprises.
