 Insect Mechanisms
Picture

On these pages, I discuss some of the neural mechanisms used by insects to process information and to accomplish tasks.  This section should be read in conjunction with the Farve sections, because the Farve iModule neural mechanisms will be roughly based on a biological counterpart.

Insect Locomotion

This section deals with the neural mechanisms used by insects for locomotion.  Specifically, non-feedback Central Pattern Generator circuits, as well as proprioceptive feedback Central Pattern Generator circuits are discussed.

I need someone to contribute to this section.  Contact me if you are willing to share your knowledge / research.

Simple Insect Stimuli Processing

This section deals with simple stimuli processing.  This includes simple visual processing (of only 1 or 2 light-sensitive cells).

Insect Vision

This section deals with concepts of full-blown visual processing, like that of the fly.
