BIRDS OF N.Y.C.

The Peregrine Falcons population was almost complety extint in the 1970's, due to a chemical called D.D.T., this chemical had prevented the bird from having normal hatchling's. But recenty their was a project to help revive the population. The peregrine was reintroduced to the wild and their population as I speak is soaring. The Peregrine lives on top of Bridges, and Skyscrapers the reason for this is because in their normal habitat they live on hill's and mountain tops. Experts say that the perigrine should continue to thrive thanks to the abundance of pigeon's which is a favorite meal of the peregrine.

The American kestrel is one of the smallest Falcons that exist in the world today it is roughly 13-15 inches in length,Kestrels when hunting hover over their prey. The Kestrels diet consists of small mammals birds, reptiles and insects.
