Someday

Doesn't matter
Cloud my reality
Lost within my walls
Warmth of sun all around
Not inside those concrete walls
Glimmers of sunshine poke through
And when it's dark… I search for more…
Left with myself to
Know Reality
Can't wish for the light
The true sun will fill the walls
Someday

Outside the walls

Remember the smiles
Warmth
Through the walls
Memories inside
Few get through
Leave
Memories trapped inside
Left too long
Destroy
Reality
Walls up
Force the smiles
Want more
Given
Resist
There
Outside the walls

Lost

Friend for awhile
listening, talking, there.

just for awhile...
orbits cross.
provide time

friend for awhile
contact
smiles inside

stone walls
feel no pain
no loss
took the train

false perception
all around
wants and needs
won't be found

Your kindness
the time that
felt like mine

other
kindness
empty nothingness
that isn't there

Lost within the walls
no pain
just find clarity
why it's only
friends for awhile
every time

To Care

A lot of caring here tonight
For this lonely soul Eddie
All the words said to me
From sea to shining sea

Sent shivers up my spine
And yes I shed some tears
I'll remember this night dearly
I hope I'm speaking clearly

I have only one regret
I'm really sad to say
I wish we'd all stand tall
And say these words for all

Talent

Tis such a heartfelt shame
That a place so full of talent
Cannot find that happy mix
To stop worrying about last licks

We're all hurting in someway
Some physical some just plain alone
Dealing with the hands we are dealt
The pain of all is easily felt

With writers and nurses
Legal expertise and computer wizards
Some young and some old
With many a sad story to be told

We've some just starting life
And even professing educators
Some disabled serving country
Amongst us so much talent to see

Talent we should be using to help
Those that really need us
To get us through day and night
Not having to read another fight

INSOMNIA

I can't sleep at all,
It's like nothing matters,
Everything has gone quiet,
I'm the only one left,
My dreams haunt me,
They make me scared to shut my eyes,
I know they aren't real,
But I can't tell the difference anymore,
Nothing is as it seems,
The world is changing,
I never notice anymore,
All I want is to sleep,
My mind goes blank,
And my vision starts to blur,
I can't feel anything,
My heart is racing,
Night after night,
It is all the same,
No sleep for me,
And no sweet dreams.

Shadow Dancers

Tearing, ripping, pulling down,
Shadow Dancers dance around.
Leading your tired soul,
into the dark yawning hole.

You can't win, you've no chance,
soon you'll begin to dance.
Swaying softly to the beat,
now begin to move your feet

to the sound, a distant in drum,
you don't know where it's coming from.
Now you know that you belong,
start to sing the Shadow's song.

Alone

Alone I am alone I feel,
as I look at these walls of steel.
I'm in a prison shackled by my heart,
I must break free but know not where to start.

Love is my Jailer she come like a breeze,
softly caressing but only a tease.
My cell is locked self doubt the door,
my time is measured pacing the floor.

One day perhaps I'll find the key,
dear God is it to late for me.
Alone I feel alone I am,
as I watch steel walls slam.

Fear

Can't breathe.
Constricting throat, deadening limbs.
Brain screaming for air.
Spiraling down, into darkness.
The engulfing terror,
as Death's cold shadow slides over your soul.
A pack of hungry dogs,
seem to tear at your life force,
as it were meat.
Falling... falling...
down into the abyss.
Body beyond pain.
Mind beyond horror.
As the blackness engulfs you,
and your being becomes numb.
