Notches

Sugar coated smile
you watch -
as I squirm in pain.
Just another
notch
on your lipstick case.

Danger Zone

Red lights flashing
feel the rush
Welcome to
my danger zone

White hot metal
feel the heat
slide it down
to overdrive

Drive chain bucking
tail pipe glowing
red lined now -
ease it into second gear

Can you handle
a ride of passion
will you stay in
my danger zone

Ma's Kitchen

Mothers kitchen
painted green to match
her teal oven.

Childhood memories
aromas of fresh baked pies
cooling on the sill.

Sis helping
covered in flour
my mother laughing.

We all grew
moved away;
All that is left
are weeds
dead grass
on a vacant lot.

A sad day

A sad day
indeed
when you find
she doesn't love you.
Sadder yet
you find
she never did.

A Bards Tale (a drunkard with an axe.)

Our party was shattered
by the onslaught of Orcs
who should come a singing
but a drunkard with an axe.

His face scarred and ruddy
stinking of dwarven ale
standing not even three feet
just a drunkard with an axe.

We heard the Orcs' approach
smelt them be the truth;
one went out to meet them
the drunkard with the axe.

We heard his battle cry
knew he'd drank his last
what could he do alone
a drunkard with an axe?

We went out to join him
to fight bravely and die
I never seen the like
as a drunkard with an axe.

The Orcs ran in terror
we had won with just few
but I knew who to thank
the drunkard with an axe.

We found him were he lay
his life blood on the ground
crying cause his ale spilt
was the drunkard with an axe.

Dream fragments

Walking in a church
on a mission for God.
The priest wasn't priestly
he wasn't even nice.

He tried to choke me
the evil priest did
I began praying
and the evil went away.

Up and down flying
soaring over the roads
I get there faster
than you can in your car.

Getting beat up
by a one time friend
holding my jaw together
while in the cab I laugh.

Driving backwards
the car often stalls
a young girl now driving
not doing as well.

Loneliness

A lone wolf howls
a primal scream in the night
driven from his pack -
loneliness tears at his soul
coyotes yip their laughter

Storms

Misty clouds weeping
as tears upon my shoulders
I see the storm building
tornados of emotion
tearing the fabric of souls

Burning walls

I feel your heat
overflowing into me
gliding through my walls -
as lava eating paper
my heart and loins set a fire

Desert

Wild roses spilling
blends into the hillside
a feast for the eyes!
strawberry jelly mixes
crowning mint julep ice-cream.

Flames

Popping, crackling,
a cozy fire for two.
The flickering flames,
charging the internal blaze.

Dancing shadows tease,
playing soft with heated skin.
Eyes reflect the love,
for beauty captured in flame.

No words to be said,
the heat must find it's release.
Become the fuel,
stoking the waning flame.

Early Morning Sun

A closed rose opens
with the early morning sun
unfurls in beauty -
wanting to share her nectar
tentative of getting burnt

Picnic

A flowing creek,
a babbling brook,
a crooked old tree,
a picnic with you.

The sun is warm,
the grass is soft,
birds are singing,
bout our rendezvous.

The shade is creeping,
from the tree,
across the forms,
of the sleeping two.

The day is finished,
but not the night,
I'll not bid,
a sweet adieu.
