The Rants Page __________ Impersonal War | 3.19.03 (NEW) George Bush said that we entered this war reluctently and now we are on a defensive campainge. In the book i am currently reading (Atlas Shrugged), it states that there are no contradictions. If you have reached a contradiction, check your premises, one of them has to be wrong. I'll approach first from the rational side. We have far supeirer technology yet we won't give them a fair chance to fight back. Its like attacking someone with a gun in the dark, the other person defenseless, and the attacking person has night vision goggles. It's just not fair, yet it's the US complaining about ruthlessness and people following no law. That could be over looked, it could be ignored, because what the heck right? We'll win anyways. What does moral have to do with war? A war with out moral is murder on a global scale. Period. Oh ok, we do have a moral now. We're dissarming Iraq, for the people of Iraq of course. About an hour to half an hour before President Bush gave his address, stealth bombers and cruse missles bombed power plants. Hospital need power plants too you know... Did we serously have hard evidence that he has chemical and biological weapons? Even news reporters and washington people admit that fact. We didn't. "we have reason to suspect" and "reason to doubt" is not there is. Its kinda sad how everything people say is used as propoganda because seriously, they didn't really say anything at all. Empty words making people jump to conclusions and rally to support. It's all pretty, until someone gets hurt. Which brings me to the next point. What does Iraq really pose that we need to attack it so much. Well attacking it has many benifits to the US. 1. We can solve our economic crises by either seizing or demanding oil from them. 2. We show off the power of the USA to anyone thinking of opposing us. 3. Prove to the world that the US is not an idle county with empty threats. Think about those reasons a bit. Doesn't it seem more likely these are the true reasons for attacking Iraq? That liberating the Iraqy people is just their excuse? Countries and governments protect self interest, they will not risk an already collapsing economy to go on an expensive war to liberate a country that has no use to us. It's scary, it's sad, but its more likely. If the world was solely based on moral, there needs to be no war. But the world is based on politics. Which people have what strings to what purpose. Who has the power to do what and what can i get out of it? Till the next post. - Wei |
