Our Hunt Test Start 1990: We, (actually Leslie) started her Hunt Test career in 1990 with Efi where they earned their first Junior Hunter Title together. 1992: Leslie moved Efi up to the Senior level but Efi was too smart for her own good. At the line, Efi would stand tall and look up to find the flags for the bird field. Upon release she high tailed straight to the bird field as was like a kid in a candy store. By 1993 a frustrated Leslie decided to breed Efi instead and gave up Hunt Tests for a while. Efi and Leslie did earned one Senior leg together. 1993: Efi's had a nice litter, two pups went on to earn Junior Hunter titles (Baron & Molly) as Hunter and Orea had to wait for their chance. Late 1995, Hunter went to Camp Bob's for bird training and Leslie worked on Orea. At first, Leslie competed both dogs but it didn't work. 1996 By this time I came into the picture. It was decided to campaign one dog then the other. So Leslie started with Hunter first. This seem to do the trick and by the time we knew it Hunter was a Master Hunter. 1997:

1999: It was now Orea's turn and in 3-1/2 weekends she became Leslie's second Master Hunter. While Orea was being work I worked Efi. I ran Efi twice in the desert and lost her twice. Efi was too much for me. Once Orea finished, we put our effort in breaking Jessie.We put our attention on breaking Jessie. Jessie was easy, Bob helped me steady her. I worked Jessie and Efi all summer. Jessie's first weekend in September she earned two Master legs, then picked up another, then two more. Efi picked up one Senior Leg then in November broke a toe. Efi's Hunt Test career came to another halt. During all this time, Leslie was also campaigning Jessie in the show ring. As it worked out, by October, Jessie finished her Championship, and earned five Master legs in six tries. We decided to finish her at our next opportunity. Jessie finished her MH easily as poor Efi had to wait until the end of 2001 to pick up her third then fourth Senior legs to finish.
2000: Sophie and Samson were now of age. Sophie picked one then two Junior legs, Samson picked up one then went birdless his second day. I decided not to continue with him.
Sophie and Samson will take longer to get their MH titles as we will
be concentrating on Field Trials and will run then locally if it doesn't interfere with
our FT schedule. 2003: We had a change of heart, we decided to concentrate on Hunt Test first. At the end of the year we competed Sophie (master) and Samson(senior) at Jean Nevada 4 time each...Well, they humbled us. They were so wired up all that we could manage was getting one leg each. I am confident though, and they did end the year's training doing well.
2004: Sophie picked up legs # 2,3,4 & 5 at the beginning of this year and today October 17, finished her Master Hunter Title. Also this weekend, Samson picked up his first two Master Legs and Abby picked up Three Senior legs.
2005: Abby easily finished her Senior Hunter Title with Pete handling her. Samson is on a roll and picked up his 5th Master leg by earning the last 4 in a row. On December 17 in Buckeye, AZ he picked up his 6th and final leg to finish. Samson took only 8 runs to get all 6 legs to tie Jessie's quest.
Orea's & Hunter other Pups are out hunting now: Lucy, "I Love Lucy III", Laddie and Lucy
have been working hard and are learning together. They are both doing very well. Lucy is
working birds with Laddie up front. We hope they will be ready for Senior work in a month
or two.
