Hello
marching band fans and welcome to the home of the Homer-Center Wildcat
Marching Band. The Wildcat Band is made up of 28 band members
and 22 auxiliary from
the Homer City and Center Township areas. Ready for the 2000 season, the band is
quite small in size, but is large in heart.
This year, the band is under direction of
band alumni Karen Hinson. While in the band, Karen played
the piccolo and served as drum major. Assisting Ms. Hinson, is
concert band director Tammy Menk.
Under new direction the band is eager and ready
to begin the new season. The first day of Mini Camp was August 9th
and members old and new turned out to start the season off on the
"left" foot. At Mini Camp the basic of marching were
taught. Marchers learned stand still commands, marching commands
and by the end of the morning were marching in a block similar to drill
down. Mini Camp ended August 10th
with the group of new marchers doing step twos and pinwheel turns.
The group is anxiously awaiting the start of band camp on the 14th. Drum
