X-Wing
Revealed at the
Tokyo Show
|
Is this the Future
Wing?
They call it a Wing |

|

|
Is this just a
replacement for the ST1100?
|
What ever Honda
does with this proto
type it uses a 1500 Wing Motor. |

|
When
this Bat Man looking motorcycle was debuted at the Tokyo
Show in 1999 Honda was saying very little.
They again showed the bike on tour first at the L.A.
Marathon Quality of Life Expo Los
Angeles Convention Center. Then showing up
at Daytona during Motorcycle Speed Week.
Honda is still
saying very little on this awesome machine. I find
this to be a very interesting hi tech machine
supporting the name X-Wing. This bike will for
sure fill the gap for those individuals that want a
sport bike mixed with a great tourer. It
will even make a great daily go to work and show it
off machine. For those individuals that have
outgrown the sport bike and not ready to settle down
to the Gold Wing this will be a great
alternative. This bike supports the best of
the both worlds the sport bike and Gold Wing.
Does it ever have all the bells and whistles.
To start with a front Swing Arm
Suspension a la BMW
even a center-hub disc
brake, electronic Traction Control System,
and the next-generation CBS+ABS brake control system.
A thumb-operated
shifting system replaced the foot shifter. Electronics just about everything, name it,
its
there. A multifunctional navigation system,
internet capable display monitor and two-way rider/pillion communication system.
No need
for rearview
mirrors, twin cameras in the saddlebags. The viewing screen is in the center console.
At high speeds
the Louvers in the front fairing close
automatically to improve aerodynamics. The rear hand grip lets call it a
spoiler is adjustable. What else can you add to it? The Gold
Wing has to be heart broken over these
electronics.
