Reading | William | Mary |
Druzilla | Benjamin | Isaac |
Isaac W Blount was living in Williamson Co TN in 1815, according to his War of 1812 military papers. He was a private in 2nd Regiment West Tennessee Militia, Capt Thomas Wells' Co. This was the same company that Benjamin Blount was in, and also Reading Blount was in the War of 1812 living in Williamson Co TN in 1815.
In the 1820 Hardin Co TN census, there is a Isaac Blount with 1 male(under 10) 1 male(16-26) 1 female(under 10) 1 female(26-45). On October 23, 1824, Isaac Blount entered 10 acres of land on Turkey Creek in Hardin Co TN. It was witnessed by a Riding Blount, this being Reading Blount who was in Hardin Co TN and then migrated on to ILL. It is unknown at this time what relation Isaac and Reading Blount are.
In the Shelby Co ILL 1830 census, there is a Isaac Blount listed with 3 males(under 5) 1 male(30-40) 2 females(under 5) 1 female(5-10) 1 female(30-40). Shelby Co is next door to Sangamon Co where Reading, William, Benjamin Blount and John Martin settled in 1830. John Martin was married to Druzilla Blount, a sister to William and Reading.
In the state of Arkansas, Randolph Co, Sept 8, 1858, a Bounty Land file, stated that Caswell K Blount was guardian of William Blount, minor son of Isaac Blount. It states that Isaac Blount was in Capt Wells' company in the War of 1812 and Isaac Blount volunteered at Williamson Co TN. The document states that Isaac Blount died in Randolph Co ARK around the date of August 20, 1849. He left no widow. The following children are named: Caswell K aged about 40, Mahaly Shaver aged about 30, John E who died in 1851, Logan Blount aged about 30, Isaac Jr aged about 20, William Blount aged about sixteen, being the only minor.
The Isaac W Blount who was in the War of 1812 along with Benjamin and Reading Blount living in Williamson Co TN, is the same Isaac who died in ARK. As to whether he is the same Isaac who is in the Hardin Co TN census in 1820 and in the Shelby Co ILL in 1830 cannot be proved. However, I have a "Mortality Schedule" for Arkansas and it gives "Caswell K Blount died Sept 1859 from typhoid fever in Randolph Co ARK born in ILL."
Another Isaac Blount settled in Carroll Co TN. What relation he is to Reading, Benjamin, Isaac, William, Druzilla and Mary, I do not know. I do believe there is a connection, for some of his children have similar names to the Blount's I am searching for.
