MANAGEMENT

Current management and committee

Manager - Tommy Amis...Like Howard Kendall, Tommy just wouldn't go away and came back for a second spell in charge. Ultimately, Amis would lead Nomads to their greatest triumph, masterminding the side's romp to the Houlihan's Birkenhead Sunday League Fourth Division Title.

Past managers

Grant Smith... Former central defender, Smith's career has been cut short by injury. After a cameo as Nomads caretaker manager resulted in a victory early in the 200405 season, the committee had his name pencilled as favourite for the permanent role. Appointed on a full time basis to the delight of the Nomads Supporters Club in July 2005.

Ron...So good he only needed one name. Appointed in the summer of 2004. Briefly led Nomads to a table topping position but failed to maintain the side's momentum and a mid-table finish resulted. Resigned after one year in charge

Tommy Amis...Tommy, who beat off stiff opposition to land the role of Nomads manager, was subjected to three interviews before being accepted by the committee. Brought to Nomads by chief talent scout Gary Pike, Tommy, a creative midfielder, hoped to see Nomads challenge for promotion in 2005. They didn't. Reign ended by mutual contract in summer 2004.

Did Maher... A product of the Nomads bootroom, when meeting the press shortly after his appointment in 2003, Did was quoted as saying "It doesn't get any better than this, for me it is the ultimate job in football." Maher came to Nomads with no previous management experience but has already turned the season around with some clever dealings on the transfer market.
A lover of the 4-4-2 system, Did was often be found in solitary confinement watching videos of the opposition, but was forced to resign due to work committments.

Damian Mawdsley... - Co-founder Damian was the first ever Nomads manager. Made the shock decision to resign and allow Colin Willan (see below) to take control. A fan of the 4-4-2 system, Damian was never reluctant to use substitutes, the most famous instance being when he came off the bench on Saturday, February 7 1998 to score twice against Manor Athletics.

Colin Willan... - The former Tranmere reserve player took control in the summer of 1998, and led Nomads to a 7-0 win in his first league game in charge. Although not in attendance during Belgium 1999, Colin achieved great success as his team finished in 6th place. Forced to retire through injury in 2000.
