Seaview defied their 3rd place in division one by being crap, fat and slow. This lulled the Nomads into a false sense of security and the defence decided to donate them three first half goals to make the match more interesting. Sadly we didn't factor the presence of an inspired keeper into our plans and the lad pulled off a series of fine saves to deny us several certain goals. The intense gales made it difficult for us to play our usual high-tempo, slick, one-touch passing game and we were also hampered by several hangovers, collective sleep deficiency and injuries to key players Al (stamped-upon leg) and Matt(weird heart injury). It was 3-1 at half time with Pedro rounding keeps to slot home a farewell goal before departing to sunnier climes for Chrimbo. We failed to deliver the goods in the second half and seemed to resign ourselves to defeat as Seaview scored a fourth. Paul Hurst later struck home a loose ball in the 6-yard box but this was merely a consolation. The 2nd half was also notable for the outfield appearance of "shouting" Bob Fitzgerald who joined little Mark on the unlikely list of candidates for Nomads' hardest payer 2003 by elbowing an opposing attacker in the head within 10 seconds of his appearance.
