THE DARK YEARS This, strangely enough, is the period between 1998-99 and 2002-03. Technically speaking the first of these years wasn't dark, but as it didn't really involve many true Nomads it kind of gets lumped in. The dark years began in earnest with the resignation of Colin Willan. The new manager came in and quickly drafted in his own players. As good as they were, (and to be fair to them they did contribute to the most successful period in our history) they didn't really have that special something that a real Nomad has. The second season under the new manager saw the club move from our then home of Wirral Rugby Club, to Pensby along with the name change to FC Pensby reserves. That was the end of the dark years, as Wirral Nomads FC were reborn, with a new manager, new home, new kit and lovely new sponsor.
