Despite missing several key players, Nomads fielded a strong team and were boosted by the return from injury of centre back Mark, and return from bingo of other centre back Lee.

Both sides missed chances early on before Townfield took the lead after their player was allowed to cut inside the area and beat the Nomads keeper at his near post.

However, the lead did not last long. A long goal kick from the impressive Richy bounced over the defenders allowing Matt Lammin to ghost in and slip the ball past the keeper and into the net.

Despite being frequently offside Matt Lammin somehow managed to add a second on the stroke of half time with a well struck shot (!) under the body of the goalkeeper which trickled into the net.

Nomads continued to create chances in the second half and were rewarded when Paul Hurst made the score 3-1 with a curling shot from the edge of the area.

Townfield pressured the Nomads goal and were denied by a goal line clearance by Tim Roberts and fine defending from the back four.

Although Townfield added a second late on, Nomads held on for all two points.

Manager Matt Lammin was delighted with the victory. He said: "I'm delighted with the victory."

The result leaves Nomads second from bottom but equal on points with four other teams. New Brighton CC and Black Horse lead with 10 points, while Blu FC have yet to pick up a point.
