OVERVIEW

The Boxng Club of Western Michigan was officially established in January 2000.  Unofficially, we began conditioning workouts in Fall of 1999.  The club was established to promote the art and sport of boxing.  The goal of the club is to provide a challenging, but safe, environment to learn and practice the art and science of boxing.  Members are welcome to practice and prepare for the competitive environment or they are just welcome to "work out" and learn the basics of one of the more practical defensive arts.  One of the immediate goals of the BCWMU is to join and compete in the National College Boxing Association (NCBA).  The NCBA is an affiliation of 30 schools that compete on a regional and national level.

The club places a high premium on fitness and members are not allowed to begin physical contact until they are judged to be in appropriate physical condition and have the proper coverage.  Please note that physical contact and sparring are not required.
