Ancestors
who led the way My ancestors came to the new world very early. The Wyatt's arrived in America in the 1620's. The Wyckoff's settled in New Amsterdam in the 1630's. Read about these and other families: |
Reverend Haute Wyatt first came to Virginia with his brother, Sir Francis Wyatt in 1621. The Wyatt line in America descended from Haute's son George. Conquest, George's son, was the first Wyatt to be born in, raise children and die in America.
Alexander McQuain Served the colonies in the American Revolution as a private in Captain Peter Hull's Company of the 2nd Battalion of the Augusta (VA) Militia.
Christian Ludewig Aspelmeyer the last Aspelmeyer to spend his life in Westphalia. His half-timbered house in Luebbecke is a historic landmark today.
Pieter Claesen Wyckoff founded the Wyckoff family in America when he selected the surname "Wyckoff" after the English took control of New Amsterdam.
Owen Truman Wyatt enlisted in the US Army and served in the Army Air Corps after WWI. My grandfather was a aerospace pioneer who eventually settled in Alabama where he pursued his two passions: aviation and genealogy. |
