- a type of game which emphasizes control of character for play
- Adventure
- a type of game which is in between RPG and Action
- Strategy
- a type of game which the player controls a mass quantity of
people or environments and often is some sort of simulation
- Minigame
- a now horrible concept in a game, in which normal control is
interrupted, commonly for a story line change, and the sequences and events
resemble a style and objective of a different game, e.g. I have
to get my party across the river, but I feel like I'm playing Frogger.
- Sidequest
- a task that deviates from the main plot of a game, which is
often optional and involves a reward
- Cheat
- some action in a game that is not following the basic rules of
then game, often they are either built in or a common exploitation of a glitch
- Tricks
- a term I use to collectively represent cheats, side quests, hidden
things, secrets, etc.
- Cameo Character
- characters that show up in games every occasion usually
for comedy and Dues Ex Machina.
- Dues Ex Machina
- "god out of a machine", an old literary device from
Classic epics that if the story is going slow or stuck, throw a god in to
continue the plot
